I’ve been to Abby Marine a few times and have great conversations and interactions with the lady at the front desk as well as Dan. Great people and great service. They may be busy at times but it’s because of the great job Dan does. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
I have had my Bayliner in Abby Marine a couple of times now, both times for some not-minor work. I found good communications and if a problem was found, Dan was on the phone immediately with the information I needed to make a decision. I never got the feeling that I was being fed bafflegab or sold parts I didn't need.
They will do their best to accomodate your schedule, but don't forget they are a small shop
and nobody should be surprised if they get busy in the spring.

I brought my year old 4 stroke in for a yearly service as the online reviews seemed pretty good. In the end I was disappointed.
They hadn't replaced my fuel filter because they didn't have the parts in stock even though I had given them the serial number a week previous. There is oil spilled inside the cowling and in the boat, I find more as I work on the boat ( a simple youtube search shows how to change oil without dumping it everywhere). They checked my trailer bearings which I didn't ask for and I'd already done previously. In the end it cost me $450 for an oil change and spark plugs.
Customer service was good, workmanship and cost were terrible.

We had taken are boat to Dan to have him work on the motor, told us it would be afew weeks well it took over 3 months. Kept saying he was working on it but lied about that. When we finally got the boat back took it out and it died in the water leaving us having to have it towed back to shore. When we tried to contact him he never returned our phone calls. Finally found another boat mechanic who fixed all of the problems that Dan had caused our boat to have which included electrical problems that we never had when we took the boat to him to fix the first time.He also has been working on my son in laws motor which is a small outboard motor ,has had that motor for over 1 month. Trying to tell him that he needs a part mailed to him, what real mechanic would have a part mailed.Would never take our motor or for that matter anything to Dan to have fixed.
If you want the job done right then you take it to Abby and see Dan. Friendly service . There is such a thing as getting a job done and then getting it fixed properly. Without having to take a second loan out to pay the bill he can get your back in business. Dan knows his stuff. Dan also sells quality merchandise to make sure that you have the proper gear for your boating or snowmobile experience. Dan is was a NB man and still is . Born in NB and continues to be a NB guy meaning no bullshit. Hats off to Abby Marine for keeping all of us on the water and flying through the snow
Dan at abby marine is by far one of the only places that service boat motors that actually cares about the customer. I have an older outboard motor that a few other shops blew me off because it is so old but the motor has sentimental value to me so i wanted it fixed. dan found everything i needed and was more than fair on the price of the repair. i wish more marine shops were like abby marine
I remember you ,thats the boat that you loved so much that you had it on craigslist before the engine was even put back together boasting a full rebuild and a full year warranty even though you knew full well you did not want to spend the money to completely rebuild it and Dan had to work with your limited budget to make this run,I believe he even gave you 90 days warranty ,thats was non transferable as he lacks the opportunity to discuss break in procedures with new owners and its highly unlikely that he will see the boat for a 20 hr check to make sure all is well.I could go on and on as he bent over backwards for you and the time that was on work order does not come close to what was actually put into it,even had to drive to your house to start it for you.at no charge ,yeh he sounds like a bad dude to me too
I had Abby Marine repair my outboard it took 2 and a half months , then they tried to charge almost double what they quoted. when we finally settled, they did not do all the work they said they would do and the owner lied to get the work and then retracted at the end.
I met Dan back in 1988 when he worked at rainbow marine down near the border ,I've had a few boats through the years and he has worked on them all .I was happy to see Dan start his own business in early 2000 .Abby marine might not sell big flashy boats, but they provide excellent service and make you feel welcome.one further note they do cater to people that can't afford new stuff and will do they're best to get you on the water even if it means staying a little late,i have to also add that they have a machine that can put a big outboard or inboard/outboard under a load ,very interesting machine
Dan and company have moved over to peardonville rd ,seemed to have stepped it up a notch or two ,I always leave there in good spirits ,and my equipment performs well within my expectations. good work guys.
A bit of a backyard operation but Dan does know a lot about outboards especially Merc products and OMC products.Seems to specialize in well used equipment[not equipment used well]
