G. Wayne Dwornik was born and raised in southern Manitoba. He attended college graduating in 1973 (Advertising Arts) majoring in photography. He moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan to start a career in television. There he met Sandra, the woman he would marry in 1975, and the following year they moved to Lethbridge, Alberta.
