John's Marina, Carleton Place Reviews (3)
I purchased my Princecraft 165 from John's Marina in 2006. I am very pleased with the boat. I was in this fall and purchased an oil filter, Oil and a fuel filter from them. When I got home I checked and found the has filter was $30.89 plus tax. I checked on Amazon and could get 6 of this type for $28.75 . I went back and asked to check the price they said it was correct. I looked up a previous purchase of the same filter from another dealer and I paid $8.50. I asked to return it but they don't take returns. It will be my last purchase from them.
I would like to start off by saying thanks to Dave and Keith for the positive purchasing experience and that's where it ends. The remainder of this review by no means reflects on them.
I am 63 years old and have made many exciting purchases over the years. However never before have I had that excitement sucked out of me the way the "parts department" at Johns Marina has!
I've been humiliated by this person from our first meeting and too many times afterwards to mention. One lame excuse after another. To top things off after 7 months of storage half of my warranty work was incomplete or improper. Good time to use covid for a new excuse.
I'm only left to wonder if the winterizing work was even completed as there's no way of proving it in fact was? That work by the way was in excess of $800.00. They neglected to mention there's an additional fire up fee of $84.75 prior to picking it up, how convenient. Storage is free for your first year, that makes me laugh!
I would like to close on one positive note and thank the part time mechanic for the work he did while I waited.
I absolutely do not recommend making a purchase at this Marina.
