I just dropped by Ziggy's to get my tires pumped up and was treated like an idiot by the salesman. Not by everyone in the shop, mind you, just the guy who helped me. Everything he said came with a derisive sneer, to the point where he was asking me if I understand how a valve works... why? I'd hate to go through a more complicated process with this person, like buying a bike, as getting air in my tires was unpleasant enough. I work across the street from the shop and thought it would become my regular bike place but now I really don't feel like returning.

We are terribly sorry that you had a bad experience at our store. We provide free air for cyclists to promote cycling in our community and to be helpful. We would like to offer you our sincerest apologies.

I went to Ziggy's in mid Oct 2008 to look for a lower end Mirra BMX for my 11 year old son. It was "Fall Sale" time so I thought there may be some deals. When I asked for a bike in the $200 range - which Ziggy's linked Mirra website shows; e.g. Shorty, Underboss (yes - in AM $ but this was "sale" time), I was told that I needed to go to a "department store" for such cheap a bike. In addition, the salesman looked at me like I was from another planet. Really! I was teated as though it is not permitted to even ask for the lower end of a brand which the store clearly advertizes. (Yes, I know it is the end of year sale and stock is limited. But he could have suggested that I could order a bike in the lower range ...)

I got a great deal that same day on a GT Slammer (240 - regular 310) at Ski n Cycle in Kitchener. They treated me with dignity and respect when I told them my price range.

When I am looking for high-end bikes I am treated well. Good enough. But the strength of a business equally has to do with treating all customers with dignity and respect - something which is lacking at Ziggy's.

I found that I was treated completely the opposite upon my visit to this store. I wanted to purchase an entry level bicycle for myself for mixed terrain riding. The sales person and mechanic were both very helpful. From riding tips to bicycle maintenance they provided me with great advice with no attitude what so ever.

Had a $3000 budget to buy 2 bikes and a bike stroller. I questioned their higer than average pricing being as though they're the closest dealer of my brand of choice, and was met with a sharply worded remarks. Not likely fair for the owner that an employee with no real stake in the business drives away business, but they were successful in doing so today.
- Higher than average pricing.
- Didn't provide me the curtousy of mutual respect.

At the end of the day there's just not a way I'll give them a 2nd chance.
