A few days after getting into an accident a man showed up at my door from Ultimate body shop claiming that he was the nephew of the owner of The Ultimate Body Shop. The man explained I would have to pay no deductible and they were a reputable business. I looked them up online through YELP and GOOGLE and they had a 4.4 star rating out of 5. So my husband and I decided to go with them. The day I showed up with my car the owner (Bobby) said oh that is not as bad as I thought and said I would have to pay a $500.00 deductible. He said he would try to find more things wrong so the insurance company would have to pay more to him and I would pay less of the deductible. I left feeling like he was trying to scam the insurance company for money. A few weeks later the insurance adjuster came back with the amount it will cost to repair the damage. My car is a 2016 Scion TC 10.0 Series with duel exhaust and the owner, Bobby ordered $150.00 bumper that goes to a regular Scion TC model and placed it on my car. The bumper sits on top of the dual exhaust, I told him, no I don't want this please order the lip kit that goes to the model I have. He refused and said that is the bumper that goes to my car, when it clearly was not. Bobby told me that he was not releasing my car unless I paid $2994.00, this was not what he had originally texted to my husband, the price he gave was $2494.00, he told us he raised the price because we irritated him. I also noticed scratches and a crumpled front bumper on the passenger side and I will be submitting another claim to my insurance company for the damages that were caused while in his care. My husband and I called the police and the officer for Travis county told my husband and I that the police have been called on four different occasions for the exact same complaint. The officer told us we pretty much had to pay the amount he was giving or we could not legally take our vehicle. The officer felt horrible because there is no consumer protection against scamming business like this one. The police officer was kind enough to stand in while Bobby demanded cash only because he had other customers go and cancel the credit card payment right afterwards due to the horrible things he had done to their car. While there and in front of the officer another worker there informed us that Bobby only rented a small parking lot in the back of their business and none of the workers were affiliated with him all he owns is the name of his business. I left there today with my car after paying $2994.00 for parts and services that I told Bobby was unacceptable, he put a part on my car that does not go on my car and I now have to go and pay more to have it repaired by a reputable company. I am horrified and hope he gets shut down so that no one else has to get ripped by this horrible person.
