Went here about couple days ago on a Saturday, with some friends. When we got in we were seating fairly quickly, however it all went downhill from there.

The service was quite slow considering there were only about 3 other groups about 3-4 people per group. After we had ordered our food it took almost 1hr for it to arrive and that was just the appetizers the main dishes did not even come for another 1hr and 30mins.

When our main dishes did finally arrive two of our dishes were cold and my other friend's steak was well over cooked almost burn, when he had in fact asked for medium rare and not charcoal. We spoke with the serve, who brought out her manager to take a look. And to our surprise the manger was not the least bit professional or kind at all.

She (the manager) said that all the food looked absolutely fine and when we asked her to feel the plats of the cold food to see how cold they were, she responded in the rudest tone "why should I when they look perfectly fine to me". Her response to my friends steak was it again looked fine and he could order another one if he wished to, however they would still charge the first!

Honestly with the poor quality of food, service and professionalism of the staff (most shockingly management), I'm surprised this place is still in business. I guess it would explain why the restaurant wasn't packed on a Saturday night.

I would definitely not return to this restaurant ever, let alone recommend this restaurant to anyone unless your looking for poor/rude service and poorly prepared food.

We arrived at Strada at 9pm and were seated at a table for four beside a large group while the rest of the restaurant remained empty. It was very cold by the door so we asked to be moved. Our server was lovely, however her supervisor was not. The supervisor set two tables for us, five feet apart and told us we couldn't put them together. We were to dine at separate tables? Not a chance. They were surprised we walked out (only to have a delicious pasta dinner one block down the street at Queen Pasta).

This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in Toronto. We went in a group of 15 for our friend's birthday party an the service was non-existent. It took over an hour before we could order our dinners and over 2 hours before they arrived. By the time the entrees had arrived the food was cold and many had lost their appetites. I ordered a rare steak and the steak was cold and the french fries hard and stale. I couldn't even eat the food that I had it sent back and had dinner elsewhere.

On top of everything else, the manager insisted on charging us the 15% gratuity for groups when he clearly understood that he didn't deserve it but defended it by saying "that's our policy." He had no sympathy for the my friend's birthday that he had ruined and the server was catatonic the whole time. We even overheard the staff talking rudely about our table being difficult. Sadly, this restaurant sets their standards pretty low and I'd have to say this place is one of the most pathetic excuses for a restaurant. I recommend everyone stay away if you don't want to be extremely disappointed and have your money stolen from you.

We went for dinner on the recommendation of our friend's daughter who went for a friend's birthday and loved the place. It was a Saturday night. We got there around 7 and left at about 10:30. There was a large party of about 10 kids, one other couple and the four of us - no-one else came in all night, so I don't know how long the place will remain in business.

The atmosphere is really nice, loungy and relaxing with sleek modern surroundings and really comfortable chairs. The martini's were perfect. The fruity ones were good - but the real test, straight vodka martinis with olives, were also excellent with really large olives. Only problem was that were ordered Grey Goose martinis which added $3.00 to each one so that they got quite pricey quite quickly.

They have tapas platters (3 or 5 items of your choice) which is interesting. My girlfriend and I ordered that. She liked everything on her plate while I really liked the coconut shrimp and everything else was ok (should have been better at a price of $35.00 for a plate of 5 items). My husband had the rack of lamb which was good and my friend's husband had a form of pasta with lobster and shrimp which was really good with huge pieces of lobster - quite impressive at a cost of only $19.00.

We started with an order of sweet potato fries (one of my favourites) but they were cold, not luke warm, but cold. We sent them back and new hot ones came. They were very little and did not seem fresh. The dip was good but the fries were so little it was hard to dip them. The rest of the food was luke warm. Hard to understand since the place was empty so why would it have been sitting and waiting. Oh well.

We enjoyed the evening, especially the martinis (not the price so much, but the taste) and would go back for a drink. Wouldn't say no to the place if someone wanted to go but probably would not suggest it. The meal came to close to $300 for the four or us but it didn't have to. Next time we would order the meals instead of the Tapas and maybe wine instead of a total of 8 Martinis. Bottoms up!
