Raceway Pit Stop, Livonia Reviews (1)
On 8-19-16 I took my truck into the shop at Raceway to have a leaking transmission pan gasket replaced.
I was told it would take thirty minutes, it ended taking an hour and a half.
The owner of the shop didn't clean out my pan very good so I ended up cleaning it out myself. Then when he was done the fluid had black specks in it. I called him out on it and he decided to suck the fluid out through the fill tube with a suction device, and add more.
He was having trouble reading the dipstick and wasn't sure if there was enough fluid in the transmission.
The guy ended up offering me a free oil change.
One week later, my transmission went up.
I took it to Speedy Auto Service right down the street and the manager said my truck was 4 quarts low on fluid and that the transmission pan was sealed with rtv. They said that the rtv should not be used on transmissions and that the truck being that low on fluid is what destroyed my transmission.
I went to Raceway Pit Stop and talked to the owner and he blamed me saying I should have checked the fluid myself.I told him that the manager at Speedy said that this was improperly done and the lack of fluid is what caused the damage.
The owner and his employee physically threatened me in front of my 13 year old son then told us to get off of the property.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE.
Needless to say I am filling a complaint with the State and sueing Raceway for the damages to my truck.
