My winning bid was $625 on a carpet - gorgeous!
My husband went to pickup on the one-day pickup. He paid. After a four hour wait in a cold building in January he was told the carpet was missing and issued a refund. He was allowed behind the barriers to look for the carpet ... good thing they had those barriers so no one could steal things !! lol!
We called many times and left messages and waited a number of days before an answer ... they said that this was an unusual circumstance and nothing they could do. On the messages we left we expressed our disappointment, made suggestions on what we thought were helpful ideas to find it, and finally that we would speak to our lawyer .... all before we received a call back.
I went online to bid on another auction and could not.
Without notice my account was suspended- permanently. I had to email to find out.
SO complain if you want but they will have the last laugh.... and don't get too attached to your purchase ... judging from the posts here I guess things go missing a little more often than they will admit. As far as comments about staff and dirty buildings I don't agree with any of those because it's an auction not the mall! It's a warehouse and people are as pleasant as you are to them and they've always been decent .. u till now.
Here's their exact email response:
Hi Suzanne,
The carpet going missing was an unfortunate and extremely uncommon incident. Yes, you missed out on getting the carpet but we were out the $500 so it wasn't an ideal situation for us either, as we explained to your husband on two separate occasions. Your account wasn't blocked because of the carpet going missing. Your account was blocked because you opted to take the path of threatening to call your lawyer etc etc etc. You were issued a refund before your husband even left the building and that was after we let him come in the back and look for it with us.
Thank you,
Jen Jamieson

Just wanted to thank the staff for their fantastic service. From the front paying for merchandise to the end driving away everyone was smiling and engaging no matter what they were dealing with. An extremely professional company. Thank you!
Have been going to this auction awhile and purchased both live and online. Some great deals sure....but I would think if you wanted people to support your business and return again and again, the way to do that is not by being rude, making off the cuff comments about race, color, sex etc. I find them to be overly rude to people who are spending their money there. If they don't get the price that they have set in their head, they behave like 4 year olds and stomp their feet and make extremely rude comments to the crowd. I really don't care that you found the highest price on the internet, printed it off and attached it to the item....an auction is an auction, based on bids that are geared at what people are willing to pay for damaged packaging, missing parts and no guarantee that it even works. Some items are extremely dirty with damaged or no package. If I wanted to pay retail, I would buy retail and get the "pretty" box and a warranty. If you want to gear prices to what you want to make then maybe you should announce a reserved bid on all items then at least you have a reason to pull an item or to throw a hissy fit. And just a suggestion....but how about being respectful, courteous and pleasant to the people who support your lifestyle and help pay your bills.
I'll make this short. I bought an item recently on the online auction.
I received the email stating when to pick up the item. I'm from Newmarket, so I had to take time off work ( extend lunch) to get out there. Just as I was approaching the location, I received a phone call from 403 auction. I was told that they over-sold the item I bought. They didn't have any more.
How did they give somebody else the product that I bought?
I told the girl on the phone that I'm right around the corner. I'll be there soon.
She then was abrupt and told me to either pick it up Next Week or that I could be reimbursed. Are you kidding me!
There are other auctions that are "Real Auctions" 403 seems like a joke.
I received no feeling that they were sorry or wanted to make it up to me in any way.
To me this place is a total waste of time.

Been attending auctions long time. Don't go to live anymore b/c tired of people talking trash like some of the comments here. People just love to put others down. I make money reselling what i buy. I usually buy from the offsite industrial and restaurant stuff with 403 and they're one of the better ones. I almost always do well and their staff is awesome. I call lou all the time with questions and he always has time for me. Bottom line is do your homework before you buy. Set your limits and have fun. Its not 'dirty' ! Im thinking some of these guys are their competitors:)
Been using the online auction for a few years now and really like it. I go to the previews to get an idea of what I'm buying, if there's no preview I bid with caution. I've purchased some really nice furniture there over the past year
My bad experience here is them not having the items that I won there; was told that items have been misplaced, still waiting for them to call me to pick up the item, glad I didn't pay for it.
The thing I don't like is the outrageous prices that certain items go for. A chainsaw going for $130, with the tax and 15% premium you're better off to buy new one with warranty.
My advice is to do your research before bidding, set your limit and to remember the taxes and buyers premium will be added to your winning bid. In some instances you're better off buying new for an extra $20-40
I've never been to their live auction, but have heard that they are not very professional.

I decided to check out this auction The first one of 2015 - They spent way too much time on penny items. After enduring hours of terrible sexually inappropriate comments by the main auctioneer and constant rude behaviour by the second auctioneer I tried to bid on a generator that was announced as in new condition the auctioneer ignored me twice at $50 and $100 and claimed to have a bid for $120 and then just bounced around the room till he got to $350 then pointed to a guy and said $375 sold. The problem was I didn't see anyone else bid,
On large lot items on the winning bid he would accept back bidders to buy which isn't unusual but then would allow anyone to buy It sure appeared if he got the price he wanted he wouldn't start again because he knew he would get lower bids because the rookies all just paid top dollar. When I repeatedly asked staff if there was any reserved bid I was told no but every time the auctioneer didn't get what he thought was a good bid he refused to take it and then pulled the remaining stock and I was told he does that all the time to put it in the next auction.
I have news for you that's a reserved bid . Its unethical and immoral.
They make you sign a document that absolves them of any responsibility for selling broken junk but there is consumer protection laws in Ontario (contrary to any goofy piece of paper their wannabe law clerk copied and pasted from a web site) that state products must work for their intended use.
Don't waste your time on this place eeww I feel like I need a shower from the slime

Maybe my review isn't worth it as I don't know who their competitors are, but everything I've bought from this place, I've never regretted. I've never been to the live auction, just the online ones. I got pair of Bowflex SelecTech Dumbells for like $250, a Sony Under-the-cabinet CD Player/Radio for like $30, a Kitchen-Aid 5-Speed Blender for like $50 and a bunch of other things for a good price.
I`ve been there many times. They auction lost freight, store returns, excess stock, etc. I look for very particular things (not going to say what because it could create more competition!) I have had some amazing deals.
You have time to check out everything, so if it doesn`t work you didn`t look close enough. Personally I wouldn`t buy electronics at any auction, and this one is no exception.
To the reviewer who said it feels dirty...its a warehouse...
To the reviewer who said the bags contained nothing valuable, even on the TV shows they come up empty sometimes. Do you check your valuables when you fly? Most people don't, so most bags are worthless. I never buy them. I know a few people who have, most find nothing, occasionally there is something good.

Decided to take a drive out to check this auction that was so pumped up on their site. The minute we walked in, it felt kinda dirty. After looking around for 5 minutes...we relized all the goods look as though we are in a dollar store auction. I assure you the bids were waaayyyy inflated. I really couldnt believe what I was seeing.
To seal the deal...the auctioneer went on and on when it was time to auction the so-called lost bags or luggage. "Do not open the bags in the auction" he repeated. Made me think he does not want all the patrons to see that they are full of nothing but used clothes and items from a dollar store!!
I think these baggage auctions are a huugggeee scam and these television shows will catch on and telize they are all filming a scam on a weekly basis.
Go to auctions that sell everything...liquidations or estate sales, these business style auctions are not going to get you any good deals!
Seemed dirty and crooked from the start!!

This is the second time I have purchased items with their online auction. The items are great, and the owner is very accommodating and approachable. I would have no hesitation in purchasing auction items from Principal Liquidators. Thanks!
Big auction of all sorts of new merchanidise. Got some good deals on Hockey Gear and stereo computers. Seating is limited but most auctions I attend dont have any seating so I guess some seating is better than none. Check out there website before you go to see if there are items that interest you as they have different themed sales depending on what week it is.
If you are a die hard who sits at this auction from 4pm untill midnight the auctioneer will favour you as opposed to those who come in looking for good bargains. They may as well sell VIP gold tickets to them. Enjoy your Tuesday evening at home. Also never buy electronics there is no warranty be careful.
great deals
