Special Event Hair
If you are looking for something really special for a wedding or event this summer, see VANESSA at Texture. This girl takes hair seriously! Like she is creating a work of art. My daughter has very long, curly thick hair. Vanessa did the most beautiful creation and there wasn't another hairdo that even closely resembled hers at her prom. She was thrilled!

She even came in early to accommodate!

Thanks Vanessa!

Awesome colour (though hit or miss), BUT HORRIBLE CUTS!! THEY TEXTURIZE FINE HAIR!!!
I've been seeing the same colorist who I guess will remain unnamed. She did my cuts/trims a couple times, back in 2008/2009, and I was happy, she did a great job!!

Then, I have no idea what happened. I was scarred from getting a HORRIBLE haircut elsewhere (bc my stylist at textures kept calling in sick WHENEVER I had an appt, and I was in school/work full time!), and she knew this.

I got my extensions taken out and she does a trim on me... except she TEXTURIZES my FINE, FINE hair!!! I have a lot of hair on my head. But it is fine. She's been in the industry for YEARS. She should know this. For some reason, she thinks I have thick hair. Not even close. She keeps recommending hair products for "THICK COARSE HAIR" (wtf?!) when my hair is super fine. The she texturizes the F out of my baby fine hair that was already damaged from extensions and awful looking from that previous cut I was trying to grow out. Now I have a scraggly mushroom cut.

I've spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on clip-in extensions to conceal this awful cut, and am just waiting watiting waiting for the cut to grow out and for my hair to look normal I wont have to rely on extensions to look semi-decent.

Hair colour is good...BUT hit or miss at times. She doesnt always write down the recipe which drives me CRAZY. When I like what she does, she doesnt take it down, and vice versa. Lets hope she gets it right next time im in, a month from now.

Wonderful place
I've only been going to Textures for a few months, but I have to say that I love my stylist and the staff. I've gone to pretty much every hair salon in the city in search of a great colourist and stylist and this place has deivered. It is a bit expensive I will admit, but I feel it is well worth it!

Over priced
I have been going to texture for 2.5 years now, i find every time i get a trim the price is just out of control. The stylist will avoid telling the customer the price if they can. My stylist spent 10 minutes cutting my hair and blow drying it and directing me to the cash and took off to the back room. Over $100 later!!! If they treated their customers better then yes i would say the price is worth it, but the stylist spend little to no time with customers except if it their friends.

I've tried many salons and this one is my favorite! Every time I go I can trust my stylist with my hair and always end up with great results. In other salons when I would ask a stylist for advice on what I should get done they would tell me "it's up to you... it depends on what you like" and never fully give me an answer. At Texture, I always get the best hair advices and learn new techniques on hair styling. I give my stylist white card and always love it!

I love going to get pampered at Texture while enjoying a nice glass of wine!

Not the greatest
I have been going to Textures for about 2 years and have decided to quit going. I have been less than impressed with the quality of color recently. It tends to go brassy quickly (even with filtered water and specialty shampoos). It can cost an awful lot and I find they tend to overbook. The hair dressers are often doing their friends' hair and so clients can be disregarded. Their receptionist is the only professional part of this business. They don't seem to respond to complaints well and are almost insulted when you dislike their work- even if it's not what you requested. They do have some good hairdressers there and I have also seen some good hair cuts. But, I have also seen a few clients less than impressed with their hair. I would still recommend most people to try another place- it is not an enjoyable experience at this salon.

texture nightmare
So if you want the wrong color, wrong cut and for the colorist and stylist to do whatever they please with your hair this is the place to go. Along with the odd buddies coming in to talk about last night's events, the ambiance is far from being professional. In addition, prepare to be harassed on products including aweful fake extensions that cost 1500$!! But this is close to what it will cost you for your color and cut which includes burning of your scalp and a hairdo you don't want anyone to see at an outrageous cost!

So very, very true. Had to have more than a few inches cut after a color there. Also had to pay for another cut at another place, after paying my bill of $375.00 at Texture!!!
