Madsen's of Newmarket

My fiancé and I went to Madsens garden today fell in love with the place and also being close to home, was just perfect until: we said we had a DJ and a band that are actually family members that we would like them to play at the wedding. We are Portuguese and we like our music and they should had given other businesses to have a chance to show their work. Totally disappointed

I am in the process of finding a Venue for my engagement party and when I found Madsen's Garden in Newmarket I was extremely happy because it fit my every requirement I had! I emailed them right away got no response so called them instead. I spoke to Mrs Madsen after Mr Madsen had passed her the phone and I explained to her I would need a fusion of Indian and Caribbean food along with music and she assured that this could all be done! I was so excited I said I would come in that same weekend to see the place! The next morning is when it all went wrong! I got an email from Mr. Madsen stating "Unfortunately I must tell you that we are not in an position to rent our facility too you. We have had in the past exactly what you are asking for and know what you will expect and we can't deliver that. Our dance floor is only 20X20' and the type of music and the level of that music I can't allow due too the restrictions put on us by the town our neighbor last time complained a lot and I can not let it happen again." Without meeting with my Fiancee and I apparently he knew exactly what we were expecting! Even though I spoke to his wife the night before and she said everything I asked for could be done! He refuses to rent the facility to me based on the fact that I requested SOME Indian and Caribbean music to be played! DISCRIMINATION AND RACISM is at play here! I read about the noise policy I understood and respected that and said to Mrs. Madsen I'd like to come meet the DJ and see the volume level to see if it works for us both before making a judgement! COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT! I emailed them back and never even got a response! It would be completely different had we met and they actually gave us the time of day to see exactly what we were expecting but no they made a rash decision based on our nationality! I am so disgusted that a place like this is in business and am determined to make it aware to everyone that if you're renting this facility you're supporting their "NO INDIAN" Policy. COMPLETE RACISM!
