I have been getting my hair coloured for over 20 years. I have been a client of Nina Darena from 1999 to 2006 and when my hairdresser (John) left to open his own salon, I followed him that's how good he was. I also saw a few other hairdressers when he wasnt available and always had great results.

I recently when back to Nina Darena and the girl who did my hair, Sara, did a good job with the style of highlights (meaning, how she parted sections out to highlight); however, she didn't give me the only two things I was paying for: (1) go blonder with lightest blonde and another light blonde and keep my natural hair colour; and (2) layers. I got honey coloured hair mixed with low lights. I spent 3.5 hours at the salon because she chose not to use the hooded dryer on me for some reason. When I went back to get my hair corrected, they immediately questioned me about my original instructions instead of trying to fix my hair and told me my hair was the lightest blonde already. I said no - this is not the lightest blonde. If so, then what would bleach be? What would Platinum blonde be? When he was washing my Hair (Caleb I believe - the part owner), he put water directly into my ear canal. Not even by accident - because it was literally directly into my ear canal. He then left for a good half-hour/hour and my alarm went off for my hair and he was not around and nobody else was paying attention. I approached another stylist who was preoccupied on her phone and asked her where Caleb was and she said she will call him and asked if she can turn the heater back onto my hair. I asked her if she was suppose to put the heater back onto my hair and she said she didnt know. Um....

After spending 2.5 hours at the salon, the second time, I now have yellow hair. He put big chunky highlights of bleach to cover up the big strips of brown Sara put in my hair. Its literally yellow. On top of all of that, I spent $279.00 for yellow hair.

Don't risk going here they are horrible and dont give a f*** about you

I am very picky with my hair and I change it very often. Whether it's Julie, Bianca, Diana or Maddy I'm always happy with my end result!

Julie is the only one I will see at the salon. Very professional and worth the money. She has so much experience you won't be disappointed.
Love my hair every time I see her. Thanks Julie you truly are worth the drive. Andrea

After a consolation I brought my daughter in for a bleach and dye job. It was clear the hairdresser did not know what she was doing and my daughter had her hair turned blue and pink before she finally got the colour somewhat right (the hairdresser told us the true colour would come out if we used hair toning products). The stylist also bleached her hair for too long and my daughter's head felt like it was on fire to which the scalp was burnt. Not only that but the hairdresser didn't wash all the dye out, which we discovered upon returning home. It was a disaster, very bad experience.

I saw this salon while walking around the Erin Mills mall and the people there were very friendly and seemed experienced. I wanted to go silver (from a medium brown) and the stylist gave me a consultation and assured me she can do it. Since I had to get very blonde to go silver, I asked her if she should bleach it once then wait another week or so to bleach it again and THEN make it silver, but she told me she can do it in a day with olaplex. I came in later that week for my appointment and my stylist was 30 minutes late. She not only fried my long healthy hair by over processing it, but she chemically burned my scalp too. she was also very rough (with my now fragile and over processed hair), to the point where she was ripping it out in clumps when styling it; I also did not ask for her to style it, but she charged me for it anyhow. It has become apparent to me that my stylist didn't know what she was doing. I paid approximately $300 for fried hair and a burnt scalp.

I drive from Burlington just to see Julie. She's the Best at that salon. Will never change salons now. I always have people commenting on how amazing my hair looks. Thanks Julie.

I am very happy to visit Nino D'arena today. They are truly professional and deserve appreciation especially Julie. She was outstanding. After a long time I finally got a place where I can go back happily. Thank you Julie.

After bein tired of my beautiful virgin black hair, i thought it was time for a change. I wanted a nice ombre.. I looked at a few places at erin mills, the girls at ninos had really nice hair and gave me a good consultation, which pleased me. I booked my appointments. Worst mistake over. First, i paid over 300$, for a shit job. Mind u i had black hair wanted a subtle ombre, she pretty much just DIED 3/4th of my hair just blonde. There was no blend no gradulness, she didnt even use a toner , hair was brassy. She started waaay higher then what i wanted. I wanted the ombre for prom. I went home bawled my eyes out. I came back a week later and told her to fix it. The second time it was better but still had patches. Attached are some pictures yes im aware they are all filtered but i couldnt take pictures without a filter cause it was that bad. And i couldnt find the direct before and after. But here ugo

Scheduled an appointment for a basic trim. When I went to pay, they charged me $67. I asked how much a trim cost, they said $45. Mine was $60 because I saw a senior stylist/director. I did not ask to see a senior stylist. I just wanted the dead ends gone. It was my first time at this salon, so I did not know any of the stylists. They scheduled me with a senior stylist without my consent or knowledge. I was completely unaware until it came to pay of course. I was not offered a refund for the difference. Let it be known I left $0 tip and told them I will never be returning.

I went there today and asked for an ombré. I even showed her (Ayesha) a picture of myself with it previously done at the Nino d'arena in Eatons centre. When she bleached and toned it, it came out a really brassy blonde. I told her I was not happy and I wanted it lighter and no brassiness. She proceeded to bleach my hair some more and when she washed it out it looked like my hair was dipped in a bucket of bleach. She then proceeded to tone it and it did nothing. After toning number 3 it finally started looking like the colour I wanted. I had to come home tonight without having my service completed because the mall had closed. There are still brassy tones left at the top which she said she would fix tomorrow, but there is absolutely no texture in my colour and I asked her to start it higher on my head, but it is practically beside my roots. I paid 200!!! I feel ripped off and I don't feel like a million bucks. I'm afraid of what will happen tomorrow, but I paid for it and she screwed up my hair, so I'm counting on her to fix it.

Tara is ok, but at the salon the they only care about taking money from you. The service is too expensive for what you get. You could definitely go to any other salon where you will get the same for way less. Also if you go for Tara you pay for the service of a "master stylist" but at the end the part timers end up doing the job. They have a list of services with the prices but they never charge you according to that. They might even tell you they'll give you a discount and don't at the end of the service.
It is up to you if you want to go there but be aware that they don't care for customer loyalty at nino's. They see you as a money sign $$$.

I have generally had good service and results. The only complaint I have is that they have part timers at times who don't stay for too long. So when I have asked for same stylist another time I am told he/she doesn't work with them any more.
