I went here to get my bridal party's and my mother-in-law's hair done on the day of my wedding. Her hair was styled very poorly and when we asked them to fix it, they said that the stylist had left and there was no one else that could do anything about it. I ended up fixing it myself (they couldn't even find the right colour hair pins for me to fix it).

The makeup artists who did the makeup for the bridal party and for me, were rushed and it felt like they didn't want to be there. She kept commenting that my maid of honour was anxious because she didn't like the makeup that they were applying. In addition, they didn't have the lipstick that I needed in stock, and the girl working at the makeup counter couldn't recommend another colour as she said that she didn't know the colours.

I talked to the manager that day to explain how unhappy I was and he said that he would get back to me but never did.

Overall, an unhappy experience and completely unprofessional behaviour by a spa that is supposed to have a good reputation.

Elmwood Spa is a beautiful place.

I would just like to chill there, it's that nice.

As a man, I didn't feel too out of place, although the spa is heavy on the estrogen side. There were other males there, but they were a lot more metro than I.

However, I went for a massage, and it was pretty disappointing. The RMT acted like she didn't want to be there. Come on. $95 for 50 minutes is expensive, at least, act like you're interested.

I told her that I was having a shoulder problem and if she could focus on the area. I don't know if she forgot or just ignored my request, because she didn't give it any extra attention.

Who knows, maybe she was having a bad day.

Even though it's beautiful, I won't go again. I'd rather spend $20 less and get a full hour's massage by an RMT who cares.

It should be on everyone's montly schedule to take a half of day off and spend it in a spa. It is the closest one can get to heaven in the middle of the hectic concrete jungle.

We made it a habit for a while in our office to give eachother spa treatment as b-day gift. (That has fallen short since the renovation and immediate price increase lol). But regardless, Elmwood used to offer the ultimate spa invironment. Very comfortable interior, calm atmosphere in multilevel building. Each floor dedicated to different services, come early to relax and have cup of tea or juice which is offered in great variety almost on every corner.

Higly proffesional staff is always great and aromatherapy massage lets all my worries fly away. Everyone is extremely polite and calm, just adding on the experience. Grab an apple or orange and plunge into a small pool after your therapies to strech the body. Right beside the pool is a hottub with whirpool and steam rooms to finish your day off in a lounge with some fashion magazines.

They also offer all day packages, girlfriend day in a spa with a lunch etc. Great place.

Unfortunate for the renovations and the trends, the place now offers a very high level of design, very metro/cosmopolitan look and the prices reflect that. Oasis gone, but still a little piece of heaven.

the prices climed up pretty high, you used to get a great 2-3 hours in there (with the water therapies) for just about over $100 with 80 min aromatherapy massage, soo good oh god please let them come to their sences and bring back to good old times :-)

I swore I would treat myself to a couple spa services once I finished my exams. This place sounds great, although I might have to reconsider once I've seen the prices. Have you had a massage there? I'm dying for one. A pedicure too, my toes are looking very....well, gross.

That's too bad that they increased their prices so much! I always say "If it's not broke, why fix it?"
Oh well, maybe, just maybe I will win the lottery one day & fly down to check out this spa whilst I'm in TO picking up my winnings :)
(A girl can always dream, right?)
Thanx for sharing this spot with the rest of us :)
