So let me tell you not only am I disappointed at Monro but at the kind of people they hire and call their managers. This Memorial day weekend father came from Cleveland to visit family. He had his water pump go bad. We tried to look for places open but couldn't find anyone. We did come across this one which said they could do it in 5 hours and would be around 600$. Well 5 hours turned into 5 days and a total of like 2500$. Now let me be the first to say accidents happen and that is completely understandable but what this company tried to do was downright robbery. Chris the manager called me on first day saying he needed to wait till the next day to get gaskets so i understood. Then at the end of the second day said I needed a new coolant reservoir. I was skeptical on this but I said OK anything to get the car right its my father and he needs to be back on Sunday night. Then come Sunday he was actually putting the car back together and had it completely back and was testing it and it was still leaking. He took it apart and cracked the water pump housing because he didn't torq it in the correct pattern or proper specs. So now we have to order a 750$ part from Cadillac which will take 24 hours to get. Finally the last day comes by and he gets the new parts in and my father has been waiting there all day asks what specs is he installing it with so it didnt break again. Chris gets completely disrespectful and tells him to leave that he is being a pain in his ass. All we want is our car. he gets done with the car and I ask him to show me the breakdown of the bill. He basically said we have to eat the cost of his mistakes. I then ask him to see all the broken parts. I understand if things are wrong but the housing was cracked by his mechanic and I wanted to see the reservoir where it was leaking since i only went in there with a water pump issue not all the issues he is saying. We check the reservoir and its not leaking at all. A 400$ part that he just wanted to tack on the bill to take advantage of someone who was already in a bad situation. He gets upset because we don't see it leaking and tells his mechanic to put it back on the car and take the new one off. We let him cause at this point we are past frustrated. Finally the bill comes to 1500$ which is still way up from his original quote of 600-700 but at this point we have no choice to pay for the work. This company and these guys specifically are crooks its sad because if this was my grandma that stopped in or my wife or mother and they were in this situation they would just put on a credit card over extend their account cause they don't know any better. Its just sad, Danny who use to work here was a Marine, had integrity took care of customers. Now they are just taking customers for a ride, specifically veterans on Memoral Day.
