Stephen M. Labow, Barrister & Solicitor

I worked for this man for 1 year and 9 months. During the course of our working relationship it went rather well with the exception of the fact that I was being underpaid for my services. I felt at the time that I had a great working as well as personal relationship with Stephen and his wife Sharon, how wever once I stated to Stephen that I took another job that paid more then what I was making at his firm, Stephenu2019s as well as Sharonu2019s true colours displayed themselves. I stated to Stephen that as a single mother of two children I would be doing a great disservice to myself, but most importantly to my children if I did not take the position that was offered to me. Stephen as well as Sharon started to become hostile towards me once I told them that I was leaving. Imagine my disbelief at their behaviour. Since I started working with them we always had a great relationship, so I did not think that they would have an issue with me wanting better for myself. Stephen as well as Sharon enjoy underpaying their staff, and basically treating them as if their slaves. I collected my paycheque on September 28, 2018, and deposited it into my bank account, however on October 1, 2018 (my sons birthday) I seen that payment was stopped on my paycheque. It is now October 13, 2018, and I have not been paid my wages for the work that I have worked, as well as the vacation pay that I am entitled to. As a lawyer that prides himself in practicing employment law, I find it very troublesome that this man felt the need to go ahead and stop payment on my lawful wages, essentially stealing from me. During the course of working for Stephen, I had firsthand knowledge of ALL of the illegal unethical practices that he practiced as a lawyer licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada. I pray that God has mercy on Stephenu2019s soul for ALL of the injustices that he has done to others.
