I've been going to M in Fairfield for many years now and have nothing less than praise

its all about building up a relationship and understanding and ensuring you get the satisfaction you deserve.

I should have learned from my last experience taking my visiting 87 y.o. mother to Moura. As the saying goes, "Fool me twice, shame on me!"
Last April, and now in August 2014, my mother went to Moura with her easy-to-care-for, straight/soft wave short hairdo. Both times, she left Moura with a mass of tight curls, kept in place with a LOT of hairspray- something completely different from the way she looked when she entered.
NB: When I booked her appointment, I made a point of explaining the problem 'the last time', emphasizing that she only wanted a shampoo, and brush/blow-dry.
This time, I watched from the car, parked directly in front of Moura. The well-gelled middle-aged 'stylist'- who had 3 clients 'on the go' simultaneously, in addition to answering the phone and booking appointments- didn't talk to my mother or even take a look at her hair before sending her to shampoo. A 1 minute comb-out followed, then he parked her under the dryer for 10 minutes. As soon as he came back, out came the curling iron and the spray can. 5 minutes of ironing curls, back-combing and teasing (do competent stylists still do this??), more hair spray, more ironing tight curls, and then a quick comb-over and another liberal application of hairspray completed the job.
Result: a total hair 'makeover' - completely the opposite of what my mother wanted, and what I requested when I booked the appointment.
If you want a production line 'money factory' when the clients are ignored , I recommend Moura. Otherwise- stay away!
