Hope for Birthmothers

Hello my name is Ann. I came in to meet Dr. Ken and Lynn Brown over 6 years ago because I was pregnant. They counselled me about my violent boyfriend who got me pregnant. I never believed in abortion or adoption either for that matter, but they took a lot of time to explain all my options, and counselled me to make the good decision to stay safe and leave him. Even though I chose to keep my baby and raise her, I still remember the love and respect they showed me. My daughter has just turned 6 years old and I am getting married soon to a wonderful guy. I want to thank Ken and Lynn Brown for the love and support they showed me. Instead of pushing me into an adoption, they went over all my options and with my family’s help, I was able to raise my girl and break away from that dangerous man. I now believe in adoption and really value the wonderful agency of Hope For Families. Thank you Ken and Lynn for all the help you gave me.

A friend of mine told me about Hope for Families. I have other children and although I would like to have another child I just couldn't take care of another. I just want my baby to have a good family with a mother and father. So many people said to me, "why or how can you give up your baby?" but I just am 150% sure. I wasn't able to do things when I was a child but I know that the adoptive family will be able to do those things for my baby. I will always get pictures and updates so I will know the baby is doing well. I was actually excited to talk to the adopted family I chose although I was nervous at first, worried about what they would think, but once I talked to them they were very nice. That family does all sorts of things that I never was able to do and after I talked to them I was confident that my baby was going to be in a good family and be able to do everything that I never did. There have been so many things I want to do in my life and they have helped me in so many ways.

Ken and Lynn treated me as family and took me in and we have become true friends to this day. They are the most beautiful people I have ever met in my whole life. They have taught me a lot and when I say a lot I mean a lot. They love God and they love people and it doesn’t matter who you are, they will take you in and they do not judge you. There is so much for me to say but it would take a whole year. They have the most beautiful heart and soul. If I have a choice to follow somebody’s footsteps I would choose Dr. Brown and Lynn. May God be with them forever. I love them so much.

My name is Nichole. I met Dr. Ken and Lynn Brown when I was pregnant over 6 years ago and did not know what to do. I thought about abortion but just could not do that as I love children. Ken and Lynn talked with me and showed me love and understanding. They explained about adoption, their Hope for Families adoption agency and told me that they knew a lot of good people out there that wanted to be parents and have a baby but could not get pregnant so they wanted to adopt a baby. They showed me profiles so I could pick the family to adopt my baby and then they phoned them so we could talk and then we all got together to have lunch and get to know them. I liked the adoptive family that I choose and trusted them to take care of my child. It was not easy to give my baby to them after I gave birth but I was not able to do provide for her needs so I knew it was the right thing to do. I learned through all of this that God let me bring a child into the world not to kill her, but to make a family happy because they could not have kids without my help. The family sends me pictures of my child and I know the family is taking good care of her so I made the right choice even though it was very difficult because I love my child.
