I went in and asked for a disconnected undercut. The lady seemed like she knew what she was doing, and was nodding to my specifications that I gave her. I said I'd prefer it fade from sides to back, and I would style it upwards (Think, pretty much any image you get when you google "disconnected undercut"). I also mentioned that this would be the first time my hair is so short (My average hairstyle length is probably around 15-20cm to give you a rough idea), and I haven't gotten an undercut before so I'd trust she knows what to do.

Well, it started out looking alright. I could only see my haircut from the front since she was working a lot on my sides. I thought she was taking off quite a lot from the sides, but she says anything but a 1 razor would be too long.

When styling came, I instantly realised how bad the haircut was as I was able to examine my hair from a wider angle. Apparently when I said I would style it up, to her it meant I would go 1950s rockstar and straight up get a thick mohawk. It was extremely spiky (not smooth like, again pretty much anyone with a disconnected undercut). I'm talking, Guy-Fieri-would-be-jealous level. I don't know what gave her the impression that I wanted to look like an undiscovered amazonian monkey, but that's what I got.

To make matters worse, I have no idea what she did to my hair, but I cannot for the life of me get it to "unspike" itself. I've tried mousse, hairwax, hairgel, and various other products, yet this hair is still spikier than a porcupine.

Not only that, but the execution of the hairstyle itself is very bad (Ignoring the fact that the hairstyle is absolutely horrendous). I have added an image of what she did to my hair, and it looks like I just got out of a hair shredding machine. There's no fade from side to back, and the top part isn't even straight! I haven't had a short hairstyle in a while, but it looks like I have to get a buzzcut to not be the laughing stock of the city at this rate.

If you are looking for a good haircut, absolutely do not come here! I came on an impulse decision as I had a dental appointment in the mall and already had a botched haircut from 2 days prior. I am extremely upset that I wasted my time, 25$, and potentially a year of regrowing out my hair in order not to look so damn bad again.

First time to go to this salon and the last, I told the operator Daisy not to short I feel like a man walking around now she did an awful job hacked it at the sides too, then I don't go to a salon to be harassed by the operator to buy all the shampoos , gels etc. I will never go to this place again !

I saw Shanine on my visit to Mastercuts. She listened to what I had to say about how I wanted my hair coloured and she delivered!! I am very pleased with her service, knowledge and friendliness.
I would recommend Mastercuts to others.
