I've dealt with Scarborough Toyota since 2001 when I bought a 99 camery so over the years I've taken my car there for years.
Every time I've gone in for repairs it has cost me a small fortune, on one occasion it was there for a problem with the front end, the mechanic called me over and told me I needed a new rubber boot and showed me the tiniest knick in the rubber that amounted to nothing, I declined.
another occasion after a collision (an insurance job) I had it repaired and asked if the could do some bodywork above the windshield, when I returned I was told that they broke my windshield and I would have to pay for it.
My last encounter, I told them I had steering fluid leaking, they replaced the pump, after a couple of days I noticed I still had a leak, took it back and the now told me it was a hose return hose that need replacing and that I would have to pay for that because they couldn't do it for free despite me already paying for a power steering pump I didn't need. they finally gave me a band aid solution but could not guarantee the job, I complained to the manager and he told me they replaced the part, the service manager had told me they couldn't do it for free, and finally when they had finished the paint job re my collision they made a mess by spilling paint on the front of the car, so to fix that they repainted id and didn't bother with the clear coat. I watched them paint it.
In conclusion Scarborough Toyota are liars and thieves. I need a new car now I don't think I want another Toyota

Hi there.

We've looked through our records and cannot find any history of you visiting our dealership. Can you please give me a call at 416-751-1530 to discuss this? We will work very hard to correct this situation for you. As you can see from our reviews on other sites, we are committed to excellence in customer satisfaction, and would like to turn this experience into a positive one for you.

Thank you - Gord Decastro, Service Manager, Scarborough Toyota

After consulting our service records for the time period surrounding this review, we cannot find notes supporting the claims of this individual. Unfortunately we have also not heard back from the author of this review regarding our invite to discuss these events and believe this review to be false and defamatory.

You claim you have no record of me ever being ther or being serviced there.

I bought my 1999 Toyota from your dealership, the salesman’s name is Ray. I also have all my bills from you, for servicing my car.

I suggest you look a little harder for my service records. EVERYTHING I STATED WAS THE TRUTH,

I expect you to recant your statement.

At Scarborough Toyota more than often I have experienced heavy sales pressure for unnecessary work and - as a consequence - getting overcharged. Waiting times are annoyingly long. There are outstandingly unpleasant employees at the parts counter.
It’s normal to get service work done without seeing what actually is being done.
Return of the old/defective parts is simply not offered.

Today, when I called to inquire about a part, I was told that they can only place an order if I pay first AND in person as they do not accept credit cards over the phone - not even for a small item (bleed screw costing about $6.00). That would mean two separate trips for me to the dealer and lining up twice at the parts counter in two days. Remarkable!
I do not want to feel as if I had to be ripped off again and/or taken advantage of… not by any means! Take my advice: avoid this dealership! Instead, try your luck somewhere else: discover the difference south of the border; it is an entirely different world.

We had some accident-related repairs done on a sliding door of our Sienna in 2010.

They used substandard, non-original-manufacturer parts, did not properly wire and align the door, and charged exorbitant prices for the repair.

BOTTOM LINE:
- Do NOT deal with the service department if possible
- If you have to deal with them, ask for original manufacturer Toyota parts (get this on paper)
- And check their work yourself or with another mechanic
