All of our guests loved the venue. The serving staff and bartender were all extremely pleasant. At the end, everything worked fine. But they could definitely get the work done during the busy season, while keeping clients happy. Our Catering Coordinator, not easy to reach.
Last week we had our Holiday Party at Sunnybrook Estates. The food was good, portions were large too. Everyone enjoyed. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating with our requests. Thank you to everyone.
The venue is gorgeous and the staff is super helpful. We had our wedding mid-September this year, and both of us were super pleased with how things turned out. The food was a bit inconsistently cooked as per some guests, which is understandable when cooking for a larger crowd, but the portion was huge. The dessert was awesome and everyone loved it. Our planner helped us stay on budget. Absolute value and would recommend for small to mid-sized weddings.
My daughter's wedding was held this past Saturday at the Vaughan Estate of the Estates of Sunnybrook. From start to finish we were very pleased with the assistance provided, first from Diane in sales, then on to Laura in event planning and finally with Phillip our Maitre D. I would recommend to others planning their wedding to listen to the event planners and follow their direction and things will go as smoothly as our daughter's did. We did have a concern or two and they were listened to and resolved. Their list of vendors is also very helpful and we went with a few of them and were very pleased with them as well. I would definitely recommend holding your event at the Estates of Sunnybrook.

We were extremely happy with the service and food at our wedding shower this weekend at the Vaughan Estates. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive!

My wedding was nice. However, it did not go as smoothly as I was hoping. I strongly feel (suggest!) the wedding coordinator and matradee need to communicate between one another. On there own, they were lovely and seemingly helpful. But nothing I communicated to my wedding coordinator during the months and weeks leading up to my wedding day were forwarded to my matradee. Urns were missing, linens and lighting for the patio weren't set up, and worst of all... I never got to see my wedding cake. It was taken away and cut up and then place at a different table without my knowledge. It was never supposed to be cut up in the first place. The fact that the staff on the night were not told this before hand was very disappointing. Weddings are expensive, to save money we chose not to have a wedding planner. I thought my great organisation skills and venue's professionalism would be more than adadequate, sadly they weren't. I nothing was ruined and we all still enjoyed ourselves.

We recently hosted a baby shower at the McLean House within the Estates of Sunnybrook. Thank you to all the amazing staff! You all took such great care of us and made sure that everything flowed just right. The entire staff was extremely professional and classy! We were actually able to relax and enjoy the event. The venue was absolute perfection,and the food was fabulous! (thank you chef for accommodating our special needs) We could not have asked for anything more!!!

The setting at the Estates is wonderful! Pastorale, quiet, beautiful. It's hard to imagine you are in the city. The food was plentiful and very good. I would recommend The Estates of Sunnybrook to anyone who needs a great place for a conference or retreat.
We chose Sunnybrook Estates since my Dad lives in the Veteran's wing at Sunnybrook. It is a lovely venue and very accommodating for both my parents and guests. The sales staff, Diane Forrester, was a tremendous help in organizing our special day. Once the contract was signed and we were turned over to catering, it seemed as if Sunnybrook Estates was doing us a favour by allowing us to use their facilities. Everything we asked for was responded to with a "no" versus trying to assist us in making our wishes comes true. In fact, all correspondence via telephone and/or email was very demanding and curt by the staff. We went along with all the demands prior to the wedding and were totally overwhelmed with gratitude by the way we were greeted and taken care of the day of our wedding. They are not part of the office catering staff and it was apparent that, in their eyes, we were the most important guests they had ever worked with. It was such a relief given the trepidation I felt arriving at McLean House that day. The atmosphere, food and constant attention was a 10+. The only disappointing part of the day was the dining table set up as clearly there was enough room to having our two tables of 14 closer together or even in an "L" or "T" shape based on our earlier requests with the catering person. It would have been so much better if the wait staff could have had some input as to the set up since they are the ones working the event. And, since 3 of us work in the event business, clearly there were no code/fire violations hampering the proposed set up. The reason for this long review is that our family & friends contributed to Sunnybrook in lieu of gifts for us & I hope for future events there may be some flexibility with the catering staff to match that of the sales and wait staff. Thanks to all of you that made our day so special with such short notice to plan the event.
Food was excellent. Having the use of the piano for our entertainer was great. Set up of room was good although it did seem like we had a lot of space near the entrance to the ballroom. Some staff felt that the price of wine @ $11.75 a glass was a little steep. Suggestion to lower it to under $10 would be great. Suggestion to have an ATM machine onsite would be helpful too. It would be nice to see servers at all buffet dishes while serving guests instead of just at the entrée dishes to provide a more personable atmosphere. Maître D, Phillip, was excellent and kept us on schedule throughout the evening. Perhaps placing the piano near the area of the ballroom would have been better in order to hear the dinner music being played. There was some confusion regarding who ordered which kosher meal and suggestion would be to have a copy of this on hand by Estates of Sunnybrook staff to ease the transition.

We hosted a full-day member seminar with 100 attendees at Vaughan Estate and it was a great success. The venue is beautiful and well-appointed. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout the day! Lunch was delicious and our attendees raved about the setting and the attention to detail.

I really loved the beautifully manicured gardens & elegant architecture that fit the Alice in Wonderland theme that we did for my Bridal Shower, the food was so delicious, Laura & Eileen are fantastic & the wait staff are so friendly & accomadating. We would definitely love to hold another event there in the future
It was our second time hosting an event at the Estates (this time at the Vaughn, and last summer at the MacClean House, We were very pleased both times. I would like to compliment Laura Gibson (who helped me both times), she was very supportive and provided me with practical suggestions, she was on top of everything, The maitre d , Philip, was also very helpful and pleasant the night of the event.

The Estates of Sunnybrook was the perfect venue for us. After touring a few places both downtown and in North York, we decided on this place for a number of reasons. Upon first driving through the grounds, we were amazed at the greenery and the picturesque surroundings. The three houses all offered distinct and unique looks. After a wonderful consultation with one of the staff, we were offered the McLean House for our guest size of 70 people. She was very detailed and helped walk us through every step of planning. The menu selections are very accommodating, and our final selection of the McLean buffet couldn't have gone better. Everyone was pleasantly delighted at the food, and how good everything tasted, so many compliments to the chef. We were very fortunate to have a nice sunny afternoon wedding outdoors in the courtyard, and the setup was as we had asked for and expected. Bar staff and the maitre'D were very friendly and in helping us to set up on the day of the wedding. The only thing that was strange was that the waitress kept clearing the plates off tables when we weren't finished with the food, even after we told her we weren't finished with it. She had also taken some of the table numbers away before everyone was seated at the tables. Other than that, everything went very well without any hitches, on the venue's part. We can see why the bridal suite won awards, as it was very comfortable and luxurious.
Such a fantastic evening. Our wedding was exactly what we hoped it would be and the staff at the Estates of Sunnybrook played a very large role in that. They were very warm, caring and attentive. Even when I got heatstroke and was feeling unwell, they rallied and tried lots of different remedies to make me feel better, so that I could enjoy the rest of the evening. Our Maître D and Event Coordinator were both fantastic. I highly recommend the Estates of Sunnybrook as a venue for any occasion.
I had booked the Vaughan Estate to photograph my engagement shoot, I would have to say the location and the service was incredible. I was highly satisfied with the staff and the follow-up phone calls to see if there was anything I required. I would definitely recommend booking any of the Estates of Sunnybrook and also consider using these venues for myself in the near future. =)

It’s a week later and we are still excited about our 40th Anniversary Lunch we had at McLean House at Estates of Sunnybrook. It was a perfect venue for 40 guests. Our experience before the event with the Social Sales Manager Diane and the Events Manager Erin and during the party was first class. We were treated with respect by all the staff. No question was too trivial and all changes were accepted graciously. The maître d’ Eileen and her staff were professional all throughout the event. Everyone commented on the excellent service. My guests loved the brunch we ordered and there was plenty of delicious food. However I think the desserts provided were ordinary and boring. I brought in my own Anniversary cake which was really necessary considering what was offered by McLean House. The interior of the house is beautiful and the gardens are lovely. There is a beautiful oak table in the Reception Area that needs to be refinished. I would highly recommend this venue for a small event.
This past Sunday we had my daughter's bridal shower at the Coach House on the Estates of Sunnybrook. This is hands down the best venue anywhere. I just can't say enough about how fantastic everything was. The venue itself is spectacular; the service is exceptional - from the staff in the Sales Dept., to the event coordinator, to the wonderful MaitreD, to the wait staff - everyone was just great; and the food was out of this world! All my guests raved about it. I'm so happy I decided to go with this venue. I'm now looking for any excuse to have another event there.
