I am only rating a half star because you have to mark at least a half star..I would have to give this company a No Star rating for several reasons. When I was hired as the only LPN for Ashtabula County, I was told that I would be very busy and they made it known that they were very behind in most of their status reports for each client and supervisory visits on their current aides. They specified that these status reports and supervisory visits would take anywhere from 5-15 minutes each and that new client openings would take me approximately an hour. No matter what kind of visit I would be doing, I would make $25 per visit. After my interview and upon accepting the position, I was handed 40 status reports to do, which I specified I would have them completed within a few weeks. During that few weeks, some new client openings were given to me and I was told it would take me about an hour to complete each one. The average amount of time it took me to do a simple visit was about an hour and it actually took anywhere from 2-4 and a half hours to do an open as there are about 35 pages the nurse has to fill out. Each client is different and if they are deaf or hard of hearing, it will definitely take longer. These people don't know me and I do not know them, so naturally they will want to give you probably more information than you will need, but I certainly was NOT going to be rude and cut them off when they are giving me their medical history which is very important in general. I also need to add that several of the visits that were given to me had incorrect phone numbers and quite a few of the clients had been placed in nursing homes or had passed away and the company had no clue. Most of the information I needed, I would receive from their home health aides who obviously knew more about their clients than the company did. This company has non licensed aides supervising all of the aides which would include interviewing them, hiring them and making their schedules. In the month I was working there, I had seen them go through 3 supervising aides for Ashtabula County alone. It truly is very unorganized and a mess that I would not wish upon anyone. The head woman in the office is related to the owner and you will be lucky to ever see her or even be able to ge t in touch with her and the head nurse who is an LPN has only been there for a short period of time and is very rude (not at first of course). I had approached and asked the head woman about possibly receiving more money for the opens I had because $25 for 4-4 and a half hours of work was definitely not enough considering that I spent approximately $20 in gas getting to my client and back home. Almost 2 weeks go by with no answer, be it call, text or even email. I had made several calls to the office in regards to an answer and she conveniently was never in nor could she return a call. I finally got a text letting me know that I would not get more money per visit and that she would hate to lose me as a nurse if I decided I wouldn't be able to continue doing these visits. I told her I was satisfied with $25 per visit, but not for the opens because they took so long and sometimes were the only client I could see in a day. Without my knowledge, they immediately put ads on indeed for my position, which I found out through a friend. I was told to bring all of the new opens they gave me back into the office, which I was ok with because I wasn't being paid enough to do them. I even went out of my way and offered to do them for $10/hour which is way less than any LPN position I've ever seen, which was denied. I was contacted by the current supervising aide for Ashtabula County letting me know that the head LPN who works in the office had let her know that I quit. Immediately, I texted her clarifying that I did not quit, I would still do their status reports and supervisory visits, but that I could not do the opens for so little money. Needless to say, they let me go which was most definitely a blessing in disguise. The staff turnover is more than I've ever seen within one company and I've been in the medical field for over 20 years. I suppose what irritates me the most was they waited until I had them completely caught up with all of their visits, then they let me go because I asked for more money per open ONLY.
