Dr. Dar Lenarcik & Associates

I have been visiting Dr Lenarcik's office for eye exams for several years now. He is always extremely thorough and takes as much time with each patient as needed. On two occasions this thoroughness has saved my sight in both my left and right eye. Three years ago, the additional scans Dr Lenarcik recommended showed two retinal tears in my right eye for which I was referred immediately to the specialist and on which I had cryo and laser surgery. This saved the vision in my right eye. Last year, I mentioned at my exam that I was seeing wavy lines in my left eye. Again the additional scans showed an irregularity, a bleed in the macular of my left eye causing the same symptoms as macular degeneration. I am very young to have this so it might not have been diagnosed unless a very through exam was done. I was again referred, this time to the emergency eye clinic and have been undergoing treatment for a year now. I would have lost the sight in my left eye if this had not been caught. I cannot thank Dr Lenarcik enough for his thoroughness and professionalism. I highly recommend this clinic and if you have to wait for your appointment, know it is because the doctor is taking extra care with each patient. It might just save your sight.

Undoubtedly the worst experience I’ve had with an optometrist. I arrived at the office 15 minutes prior to my appointment start at 10:30, only to learn that the Dr. Lenarcik had yet to arrive. 2 hours later, he meanders into the building through what I can only assume was a back door, since he certainly didn’t walk by the patients. Skip forward another hour and a half to when the doctor finally gets me in.

The eye exam was what you would expect, although there was no mention of eye dilation as described in other reviews here. The icing on the cake was Lenarcik’s unrelenting insistence on having me purchase contacts. I informed him that after wearing glasses for over a decade, I’m perfectly happy with the cost and maintenance of them, but these responses fell on deaf ears. After no less than 10 minutes of debating the futility of spending an additional $200/year on monthly contacts when my glasses already correct the issue, the topic was finally put to rest. The fact that this money-grabbing salesman thought it best to take 10 minutes pushing contacts on an unwilling customer after having already delaying my appointment by 3.5 hours was despicable.

This office has no respect for patient wishes, the value of our time, or the financial situation of the customers. I use the word “customers” mindfully, as the only apparent goal of operating this practice is the veritable cash flow.

It's really hard to believe this clinic would get anything less than a 5 star review. Dr. Dar Lenarcik really takes his time with patients and while this may mean appointment times are a bit longer, patients who are looking for a thorough eye exam can be assured that they've come to the right place. I've got a family history of high blood pressure and diabetes and the health of my eyes is very important to me. I've been to too many optomistrists who didn't even dilate my eyes when conducting my annual exam! Dr. Lenarcik has state of the art equipment, he offers the newest technology and he took the time to answer all of my questions instead of rushing me out the door so he could take his next patient. The most important part of my experience was the trust he built with me as a patient. I opted for some extra scans (which ended up costing a little bit more) and still left his clinic feeling like I got more than what I paid for. I still recommend him to everyone I know.

Dr Dar Lenarcik provided me with a comprehensive eye examination, initially he was personable and proficient in his exam. Until his attempt to push Dailies Total 1 contact lenses, he would not take no for an answer and was very uninformed saying how much money you save by not having to purchase solution. he made it clear that he gets a commission on sales of this product and couldn't care less about his patients. n
