PetSmart, Maplewood Reviews (1)
I brought my 14yr old Pomeranian in for his lion cut. When I returned to pick him up, he at first appeared ok, except was noticeably shaved shorter than normal. On way home I noticed big patchy areas where he was compleatly shaved to the skin. No hair at all in those spots. His skin was getting really blotchy red. Very hot to touch and my dog would flinch when I touched those areas. I brought him to the vet right away that day. My vet after examining him, diagnosed the problem as a severe case of razor burn as a result of shaving way to close to skin multiple times. He was smooth no hair what so ever in different places. I got a prescription cream that cooled the areas, prevent itching which could cause injury so he also had to wear an e-collar for a week. This was very bad and should NEVER had happened. A groomer who was trained would never cause multiple sevear Razer burns. So this person either intentionally hurt/burned my dog or Petsmart hires unqualified people to groom our very special animal friend, my animals are my children. Since this I have now learnt about the ongoing law suites against Pet smart for causing extreme harm and death to some animals. There's over 850 serious complaints on Pet smart as well as multiple law suites. PLEASE, do your research at least. If you aren't sure you trust my comment, Google and you'll learn about the seriousness of issues with Petsmart groomers. One dog recently die while in the care of a Petsmart groomer. The dog suffered 2 broken ribs and other injuries. That dog went in for a nail trim....the groomer has been arrested and awaiting trial. This HAS TO STOP. like I said just please do your research if you use or want to use Pet smart for grooming. I wish more than anything I would have filed a lawsuit. But I'm really not one to even complain normally.
