I'm just wondering if anyone has had problems with buying a crib from baby sam if so pls let me know we get a crib fr baby last year and we had to return the first one because it broke and we get a another crib from there and now we are have to return this one as well I just don't know want to do at this point anybody have any suggestions

We are first time parents. We ordered over 1300 dollars worth of products - we were told 2 weeks wait on everything. To be fair the sales girl was young and looked like she wanted to be elsewhere. We got the minimum amount of information from her. She wanted full payment at the counter and I insisted on paying a 25% deposit instead. After payment her manager then stated that the goods would take 4-6 weeks! I voiced my concern and they promised to speed the process if they could.
When the goods arrived 3.5 weeks later we were advised to bring our vehicle in to ensure compatability. We showed up and when we requested a quick demonstration the same clueless sales girl informed us that they are actually 'not certified to fit the seats'. All pre natal courses, books etc state that this is a very important aspect of purchasing a car seat and assure you that all stores provide this service. Not Baby Sams. Then an able bodied man brought the heavy boxes to the front desk on a two wheeled goods trolley and told us that we needed to take it from there, and watched as we struggled out the door with 3 large boxes on the trolley.
I really really hope we have no problems with our products because I have zero confidence in Baby SAMs customer care. I worked damn hard for my money, they didn't.
Shop at Westcoast Kids. The prices are a little more expensive but we had a much better experience and regret not getting everything there. They are knowledgable, helpful and made us feel appreciated, not duped.

Ok so I was reading all the comments on here about people ordering furniture and not getting it. I ordered from west coast kids and it took 15 weeks and I was told 10-12 weeks. I was expecting twins! Turns out it had to come thru the US and it was caught in customs for 4 weeks because of the election. Was it their fault? No. was there anything they could do? no. Was I worried and anxious? yes. Did I get it in time for their birth? Yes. 2 days before they were born. I shopped for cribs 4 months in advance.I have awesome good quality bedroom sets for my twins and it was worth the wait. It doesn't matter what store you go to. Baby Sam gets the same treatment as all the other purchasers. They have to wait the same amount of time to order new ones for their own stock.

I for one like this store. I don't have furniture from them. I did buy my carseats from them. They don't offer as large of a twin discount as some of their counterparts but when I go in there I feel like someone is interested in knowing if I need assistance and that they are knowledgable on the products. I also dont have to get in a line to ask questions because the store is a zoo.

I would return here to make another purchase! I also like that they will answer questions on Facebook.

First time mom shopping in Edmonton, new to shops...I visited Kid's Furniture Gallery first, then West Coast Kids and Baby Sam was my third shop to visit. I'll sum up my review:

1. I was surprised by the "storage/warehouse/garage sale" appearance of the store and its layout.

2. I have no allergies but I left very stuffed up - it cleared up after 20 min.

3. Having gone to 2 other stores previously, I was able to comparison shop and found that their prices were exactly the same. I was disappointed given point #1

4. Most importantly of all - I was sadly given very bad advice. I asked a sales rep about strollers for newborns and reclining positions of strollers x & y and I was told that they all recline but that I never want to put a baby in a fully reclined stroller position. This was contrary to the advice that I had received at a previous store and I left confused and perturbed. I specifically went to specialty baby stores to get the best advice and products. I reviewed the issue on Google and web sites and learned that you do indeed put newborns in fully reclined positions and ensure that they have the proper support around their body because they have no head/neck strength.

For these reasons, I don't plan to return to Baby Sam. West Coast Kids was the store that I least expected to want to shop because I thought they'd be over the top but it turns out it's reasonably priced, guarantees prices and best of all, their customer service is unparalled.

We have always been impressed with the service, and quality of products this store can offer. I now have 6 beutiful children, and they have all been raised with produscts from Baby Sam!

Their knowledge is beyond impressive, and they have all the right answers! I just ordered a twin bedroom suite, and it's already in! They offered me their free layaway program, which allows me several months of safe holding until I am ready to pick it up in the new year!

Support local, family run businesses in the city, like Baby Sam.
This is how we keep our local economy strong people!

Great customer service. They told me ahead of time about how long things would take to come in, and their information was accurate. The staff are super pleasant and professional.

Horrible professionalism. While everyone seems friendly through the door, we were sold a crib floor model after carefully inspecting it (been down that road before) When we picked it up it had further damage that made it unsafe for use including cracks in the base. After 3 months of Baby Sam and the manufacturer shifting responsibility onto each other, we finally received replacement parts. Guess what? Wrong pieces were sent. So, baby is now 4 weeks old and no crib.

My wife and I ordered quite a few items from Baby Sam several months ago. Unfortunately, after spending over $1000 we are still waiting on several items. The only items that we do have just happened to be in stock at the time. I was amazed at the service we received when we first went to the store. However, after several phone calls (none of which were returned) we finally got an 'answer.' Apparently our items would be in by the middle of July! Our baby was due over a week ago! I will continue to press them to either get our money back or figure something else out, but for now my advice is simple. If you want a deal, go here BUT MAKE SURE ITS IN STOCK AND PICK IT UP THAT DAY. Otherwise your better off elsewhere

Still waiting for my order that was suppose to arrive last week. They told me it should take up to 8 weeks to get in my cribs and change table but my stuff is still not here and they wont return my phone calls. NEVER BUY FURNITURE FROM THIS MICKEY MOUSE OPERATION!!!!! My babies are going to be born before I see my cribs....... I wish I would have bought my furniture from West Coast Kids....I would have paid a bit more, but I also would have received professional and efficient service. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS. I don't know if I'll even receive my order????

We bought our furniture from baby Sam 9 weeks ago, we were able to take the crib home with us that day, but had to wait for the dresser. After numerous phone calls to find out what the hold up was, and receiving only the run around, I called the manufacturer. I asked how long it takes for a shipment to be delivered to baby Sam, the man told me one week. So I'm unsure what the hold up really is. Three of the times I called and asked where it was, I was told by the girl on the phone, that she would call the manufacturer and call me "right" back. All three times I have had to call back. The people who work at baby Sam are not at all helpful. I thought I bought my furniture with more than enough time before the baby arrives, but it's really not looking that way. I wish I'd gone to a major retailer and got the same quality merchandise with less hassle. I do not recommend baby Sam to anyone. I will not give them any more of my business, and I've told all my friends to steer clear of baby Sam!

I will say it time and time again, Baby Sam is the ultimate one stop shop for anything relating to your children.

I just went into the store today, and again was absolutely amazed at the respect my family and I recieved. One of the girls offered to buy us cookies from the baker across the street just as a simple gesture of kindness from her own pocket book!

Eventhough we do not buy "big ticket" products, they will always talk to us like family, and that is all I ask for.

Put your money into a local family run business, you will never regret it!

before we had our first child in march, my husband and i went to e-children in the west end to start looking for baby essentials. we walked in there and received no customer service whatsoever!!!! after being there we walked out angry and went to baby sam instead and were glad we did. we received excellent customer service and especially from one of the girls that works there, very knowledgeable on almost everything in the store. we have gone back there back times and would suggest the same to other parents...may not be the best looking store inside but the service and great deals are worth it...

If you show up during non-peak hours when the staffs are more free to show you how things work, Baby Sam has the most trained staffs I have seen in terms on working out how strollers collapse and expand.

For first time parents, this skill is invaluable and having someone who knows what they are doing to show them is needed. Baby Sam is the store to go to, even though at the end you might not be getting the strollers there.

They do carry more varieties than other stores for the most part. We were at eChildren and no staff talk to us at all, probably we don't look like riches as we don't dress like one, etc.

I ordered a crib and dresser set worth over $2000 from the Baby Sam store. They told me that the order should not take longer than 8 weeks. When 8 weeks was up, I called Baby Sam to make arrangements of when I could pick up the furniture. The staff said the furniture wasn't in and it would take a while longer. Weeks and weeks have passed. I have made several phone calls to see when or if the furniture is coming in. They staff and manager have made no attempts to assist with my order. It has been over 13 weeks and my child does not have a crib. I have not received a refund. I have contacted CTV news to assist with this issue. I believe the store manager is looking to take advantage of young parents begining their families. I would never recommend this store to anybody.

I AM A VERY OLD CUSTOMER OF THEIRS.I HAVE A FAMILY OF FOUR AND NEVER ONCE HAVE I EVER HAD SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE, SUCH UTTER JOY SHOPPING AT BABY SAM.

EVER SINCE MY FIRST LITTLE ONE THE MANAGER, AND STAFF HAVE ALWAYS TREATED US WITH DECENCY AND RESPECT. THEY LISTENED TO WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR DOWN TO WHAT KIND OF LIFESTYLE WE LEAD AND OUR GOALS THAT WE PLAN TO ACHIEVE WITH OUR NEW BABY!

NO OTHER STORE WOULD THINK TWICE, THEY BARELY KNEW WHAT A CONVERTIBLE CRIB WAS OR HOW IT CONVERTED!
ONCE WE WENT TO VISIT BABY SAM, THEY TOOK US STEP BY STEP INTO THE GREAT WORLD OF PREDNANCY, CHILD BIRTH, AND HAVING ALL THE PRODUCTS NEEDED (AND WANTED) FOR THE NEXT 18 YEARS OR SO OF YOUR LIVES!

WE WERE RECOMMENDED TO THIS STORE BY NO LESS THAN A DOZEN PEOPLE.

WHEN WE ORDERED OUR SUITE WE WERE SO IMPRESSED WITH THE PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE, AND THE NATUAL FLOW OF COMFORT SPEAKING WITH THEM THAT WHEN THE $3500.00 FURNITURE PURCHASE WAS PAID FOR i WAS READY TO POP IN A MOVIE AT THE STORE AND HANG OUT A WHILE.

(MY FRIENDS GIGGLE WHEN I SAY IT, BUT THEN THEY'RE LIKE YAH, I'D COME JOIN YOU!)

IN THE END, WE WAITED A WHOLE 7 WEEKS FOR EVERYTHING, AND WHEN WE SAID WE WEREN'T SURE WHERE TO PUT IT ALL IN OUR NEW HOME, THEY OFFERED TO SET IT ON THEIR FREE LAYAWAY PROGRAM!
NOW HOW MANY GOOD THINGS ARE FREE THESE DAYS?

SO BEFORE ANYONE GOES JUDGING THIS PERSONS EMOTIONS, DON'T. THEY'RE ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION.
HOWEVER, DO NOT MAKE YOUR BABY FURNITURE/EVERYDAY BABY NEEDS STORE VISIT DECISION, JUST GO THERE, AND CHECK IT OUT!

IF ANYTHING ELSE THEY HAVE GREAT PRICES, GREAT SELECTION, AMAZING STAFF, AND A COMFORTABLE ATMOSPHERE TO MAKE SUCH IMPORTANT DECISIONS.
