Awaken Family Chiropractic is a family-friendly chiropractic clinic providing care to the Cedar Rapids and Hiawatha communities! In a warm and welcoming environment, patients immediately recognize the high level of compassion and dedication that Dr. Erica Smothers, DC has towards her patients.
Dr. Erica is specially trained in providing chiropractic care for infants, children, adolescents and pregnant patients. While people traditionally think of chiropractors as “back doctors” or “neck pain doctors”, Dr. Erica has experience working with a wide range of health concerns that have responded positively to natural, drug-free chiropractic care. Her training and care places a particular emphasis on the role of chiropractic care in improving complex pediatric conditions such as ADHD, autism, ear infections, colic, sensory processing disorders and more.
Dr. Erica has had the incredible opportunity of training with some of the best pediatric chiropractors in the country in an organization known as Epic Pediatrics. She is also a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is trained in the Webster Technique, a technique used to assist pregnant patients with a more comfortable pregnancy.
Awaken Family Chiropractic is conveniently located off of Miller Road, between Blairsferry Road and Boyson Road. Dr. Erica's hours vary to incorporate some early morning and evening hours, in order to expand availability to busy families and working parents.
