I do not recommend going to this location. Ever. My son took our vehicle here recently for exhaust work and it did not go well at all. A complaint was sent to the corporate office for Midas (as directed within a variety of their online reviews) over a month ago and there has been no response to date. Again, I advise everyone to avoid the Bells Corners Midas location.

May 7, 2021 I went to my 11:00am appointment at Midas, Bells Corners to have my winter tires removed and replaced with my summer tires at the cost of $49.00. About 15 minutes after arriving Randy, the mechanic, came out to inform me that all the lug nuts (20), needed to be replaced, due to rust. I was very hesitant. He said he informed me of the rusty lug nuts on December 4, 2020 when I was there to have the winter tires put on and said he had made a note of it on my file, at that time. I said I did not remember his saying that. He then, in a very condescending way, informed me “YOU SHOULD, IT’S YOUR VEHICLE”. Randy had the cost of the lug nut job printed out on paper, and I asked to see it. The bill for replacing 20 lug nuts (which were already off because they were replacing my tires anyways) was going to be $258.00. I then told him that I did not want the lug nuts done. He became belligerent and told me that if I did not get them done I could not come back there. I said “fine, I still did NOT want the lug nuts done”. Randy, then went back to the bay where my vehicle was and within 5 minutes had put the lug nuts back on and arranged to have my vehicle removed from the bay area. At that point I noticed that the winter tires were still on. I mentioned to the young man that drove my van out that the tires had NOT been switched. The young man replied “he told me not to” meaning Randy, the mechanic. Needless to say I was not amused, in fact I was angry. I am a woman in my older years, and I am thinking that perhaps he thought he could intimidate me into a $258.00 job…it did not work. Based on other negative reviews from other costumers this is not the first time Midas has tried this. NOTE: I have gone back to the December 4, 2020 invoice in my files and there is no mention of rusty lug nuts.

I have been to Midas 2 times, the 1st time I was visiting friends and was stuck in Ottawa , no other mechanical shops would see me until I pulled into Midas and seen Randy. Randy had my car up and going within a few hours . I now have been struggling to find a mechanic or shop to fix my car after several shops looking at the car no one had an answer for me. So I drove from Toronto to Ottawa To see Randy again with thin 15 minutes he knew the problem and is now fixing my vehicle. I highly recommend randy at Midas Great team great people. If I ever need anything done again I will definitely visit Randy at midas and make the drive .

Came in for a Safety inspection. I know the car will pass it as I do all maintenance when required on it.
Bumper had a little crack. Randy Murray advises his mechanic to perform the safety inspection on it.
Mechanic tells me later that he noticed the crack bumper initially. Instead of telling me straight out about the bumper and ask if I want to go ahead with the inspection, Randy decides to do the whole inspection and charges me $114 for it. But he fails the inspection saying that the bumper is a safety hazard.

I go on block east, to another mechanic. He looks at the car, put it on the lift, attaches the cracked part and puts one strip of tape. Makes the safety inspection and passes the car with no issues.

Want back to Midas and asked Randy Murray for a refund. He refused to admit his dishonesty and confronts me when I am speaking to his mechanic, telling me to leave as this is a private property.

Made a complaint to Midas Headquarter site, and still waiting for a call back.
My advise, stay away from this location. It is managers like this who give mechanics a bad rep

WHY?
I brought my Toyota for oil change. Front desk guy gave me appointment after 6 days.( It was 29.99) I said after 6 days when I bring my car will it be same price? He said yes. I brought my car. There was a lady at the front desk. (she is manager) She said promotion is over. Price is 39.99 plus tax she said. Despite their dishonest I said ok. I paid and I left my car with the key there. I came back after one hour to get my car. I saw my car still was in garage. I asked lady is it not done yet? she said it is done. She went in garage and get my car outside of the door. My driver side window was open. She got out of the car and left the door open. I got in my car and closed door and I went home. My home is only 2 minutes away from the garage. I closed the door without touching door handle. I forgot to take something in my car and while I was opening my door I saw my door handle was broken.
In ten minutes I went back to garage, I said my door handle is broken. She said we did not brake your door handle. I said when I left my car your property was the door handle broken? she said no. I said, the oil changer guy may brake by accidentally can I see him. He came in and without listening to me I did not brake your door handle. He did not even interested to see broken door handle. I said you may broke by accident but you should tell me that it has happened. He right away tried to defend him self. I was a bit angry another man (Chinese man) came in. He treat me to leave his garage. He became very aggressive to me. He was not nice at all. Three people in garage blamed me despite I am right. After a few minutes they are yelling at me The front desk lady said to me that they will fixed no charge but I have to pay the part. I said ok. (She added that it was one and half hour job)I left there and next day she called me for an appointment. The part is $55,95 plus tax.
I was afraid to bring my car back to them. (because, they may fix for free the door handle but they may damage my car in manically, this is what I felt) so I found a small garage and they fixed my door handle in 10 minutes and I paid $80.
This is what happened. How can I trust this people?

They charged me about 5 times the price for a part that cost about 200 dollars. People should be aware of this place and avoid it completely. When I called the mechanic, he said its practice encouraged by his manager. With this kinda practice I don't think this place should be operating at all.

Took our vehicle in last year to have brakes done. (2014) A whopping 1800 dollars later, we were finished. Found out later on, we were WAY overcharged. One year later, brakes seem to have a problem.( 22,000 kms since brake job.) Back to Midas for a look. Guess What? ......New brake job needed. Estimate? near 1800 dollars again. When questioned, we were told it was because of the type of vehicle that we owned and that this vehicle was hard on brakes. Funny, because the original brakes took us 78,000 kms. The brakes they installed....22,000 kms. I did not have a good feeling after reading some reviews of this place....as one woman had a situation almost identical to ours. She had a total brake job, to only go one year to find out she needed another. In the end, we took our vehicle to another place and saved HUNDREDS of dollars. So in the end, if you don't mind giving your money away, these are the people to see. If you care about your vehicle and your pocket book.....run, run, in the opposite direction.

Mike Kang charged me full prize for 4 X Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 tires in March 2015. I took a closer look at the tires today and found out that they are actually WS60 with a manufacturer date of Week 31 2011 !!!
I am looking into suing the location, not sure if he is still working there, seems that he is moving from branch to branch.

AVOID FRAUDULENT MANAGER!
i took my car in to get gasket changed at the manifold. manager quoted 2 hours. i called toyota and they told me they charge 1.5. went to another midas after work was done and they quoted .8 of an hour. i was finaly charged 1.5hrs. i had an appointment at 9am and the manager stated the gasket would be there ready to start at 9am. when i arrived the gasket wasn't ordered by the manager yet. so they went ahead and ordered it . it then arrived at 955am. the technician started to take the old one off at 9am and by 915am he was all ready to put new one on. my car sat waiting in the bay for 40min, and i was charged for this time that the manager forgot to order parts the day before. this is fraud. the car ended up being ready by 1035am. i mentioned all this to the manager and all he had to say was im not taking .5hr off. I did reseach on this manager and im not the first to be frauded by him.

I was shown all the neccessary repairs and was given
an estimate up front backed by a 1 year warranty.
The price was reasonable and repairs were on time and i was

booked an appt. to get an oil change and talk about an exhaust leek (repair or replacement) on a rusted flex pipe. After telling them the problem they, ignoring what i told them and diagnosed the problem as the lower rusted attachment bolts for that frontpipe (bolts were rusted but gasket and attachment 100%) and that to grind the existing bolts out & install a new gasket and bolts would cost me $180. then after i told them again that the problem was the flex pipe they priced a replacement of the frontpipe at $620!! considering this involved grinding out 3 easy to access bolts, unbolt the mount in the engine and pop in the $180 replacement frontpipe and gaskets i wouldn't expect to pay more than $260 for that and the shop down the street did just that for $230 in a half hour. Don't waste your time or your money.
