I spoke to an older male employee (grey hair, giant dirty mustache and glasses) at the service counter on august 25, 2016 at 7pm and asked if they are able to detect if the tire pressure sensors on my vehicle is operating as I believe the battery in one of the sensors is dead. He looked at me with a blank face. I expected a professional to understand something as basic as that, he then rambles on that it would be $95 to scan. He literally pulled that number out of the air. I told him Costco charges $15 are you sure youre talking about the correct scanning here. He then rambled on we gotta do a diagnostic on it. He was probably was thinking to scan my ecu which is not necessary. Most tire shops have a simple scanner which wirelessly detects the sensors in the tire in seconds hence why Costco only wanted $15.

Anyways I left because I didn't want someone who has no idea what I was talking about touching my car and next thing you know I'm billed 5 times the price and fed false information, i truly feel bad for people who dont have knowedge about vehicles and would believe this person.

I expected a little better, please Canadian tire train your staff or hire more competent higher qualified employees who understand auto basics.

I called to inquire about dodge balls.
They lady said "yea let me check".
She put me on hold and never came back.
I called again...the phone rang and rang.
Auto department answers and they transferred me...still no answer.
I called the sports department back 4 times...the phone just kept ringing and ringing and ringing.
This is not the first time their customer service absolutely sucked!

I walked in to ask a simple question on returns and this larger lady gave me an attitude and what she said didn't make sense. Basically I asked if I saw something on sale but I purchased it regular price can I get price adjustment. She said only within 7 days. I said the return policy is longer than that, what's the difference if I get a price adjustment rather than bringing the item back and buying it again. She said, she would need to see the item returned unused, then give me refund so I can buy again. I said, that's too much a hassle, make me drive back and forth, so I'll just buy another then return the other one. The she said, if you plan to do that I will not do the refund for you. I said "what?" She said, "since I know that's what you are doing, you won't get a refund at this story." I said that's the stupidest thing I ever heard. I told her my purchase is still under the return policy and you have to honor it. Another customer standing beside was speechless. I just told her "you have poor customer service" and I left.

I just read all the so called "non-member" negative comments (likely posted by one person).

I will personally only go to this location for my oil changes. Eldon and his staff treat me exactly the same as everyone else. From what I can see, this is a busy location. They sometimes have to turn away business, me included. The thing is, they can only do so much in a day. They take people first come first served. So expect to wait.

If you can't deal with that (I can) then go elsewhere. But what I can say is that they will give to honest truthful service.

Remember there are sometimes reasons why people are on the phone. It could have been on his own time.

To the people at the Upper James location, keep up the good work!

SO U KNOW TO WRITE THIS REVIEW I HAD TO MARK THE STAR TO CONTINUE, THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE 1/2 A STAR!!!! I WENT THERE AND PURCHASED A PORTABLE GARAGE. I GOT FOR A GREAT PRICE!!! I COULDNT FIND IT SO I ASKED FOR HELP, AND GOT NOWHERE. THE STAFF HAD NO IDEA WHERE TO SEND ME, I ASKED 3 EMPLOYEES THEN HAD TO FIND IT MYSELF. WITHIN A MONTH OF OWNING THIS PRODUCT THE WINDOW IN THE GARAGE RIPPED, SO I WENT BACK RIGHT AWAY AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD REPLACE IT. FANTASTIC, BUT THERES A PROBLEM, ITS MID-WINTER AND I CANNOT TAKE IT DOWN. ONCE THE SNOW STOPPED, I CALLED CANADIAN TIRE AND WAS TOLD TO COME IN AND TALK TO A SUPERVISOR/MANAGER. SO I RETURNRD OVER A MONTH AGO AND WHEN I GOT THE THE SERVICE DESK A WOMAN ASKED IF NEEDED HELP AND I SAID TO HER WHAT I WAS TOLD TO SAY WHICH WAS "I NEED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER" WELL HER REPONSE WAS SHE ROLLED HER EYES, TURNED AROUND AND GOT ON THE PHONE. SO I WAITED, N WAITED.....THEN ANOTHER CUSTOMER SERIVE REP ASKED ME IF I NEEDED HELP AND I SAID "WELL YA I GUESS, THAT WOMAN WAS ON THE PHONE TO GET ME A MANAGER AND WHEN SHE GOT OFF THE PHONE SHE IGNORED ME!" SO FINALLY A MANGER CAME, LOOKED AT MY RECIEPT AND BASICLLY TOLD ME THATS NOT HOW THE RECIPTS ARE PRINTED HERE. "OMFG ARE U SERIOUS" THE THE 2ND WOMAN WHO HELPED ME PRINTED A RECIEPT TO SHOW HIM THAT INFACT HE WAS WRONG, THATS A REAL CANADIAN TIRE RECIEPT. I HAVE A 3 YR OLD SON WHO WAS WITH ME AND NOW GETTING RESTLESS, SEEING HOW WE WERE STANDING THERE MAYBE 20-25 MINS ALREADY. THE MANAGER MADE A FEW CALLS AND SAID THAT THE GARAGE TOP WILL BE REPLACED AND HE'LL CALL ME IN A FEW DAYS TO COME EXCHANGE MY PRODUCT. WELL GUESS WHAT? ITS NOW BEEN ALMOST A MONTH AND A HALF AND I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANY PHONE CALL. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THE CANADIAN TIRE ON UPPER JAMES AGAIN. NOTHING BUT UN-KNOWLEDGABLE, IGNORANT STAFF

This is the worst place to go to shop unless you are going to see their automotive department and you deal directly with ALDEN.

The store’s ignorant and arrogant staff members, including its customer service centre, was brain washed by their store manager, Rob Campbell, who has zero customer care skill set or appreciation at all.

This used to be my number one store but now on I started to spend my money else.

I found a good bike at a good price. The "bike builder" was very helpful in making an adjustment to the bike so it fit me better.
