If I could have given a zero I would have.
The man who ran the geek squad was dishonest with me and had a very poor attitude and an air of self importance and arrogance. I returned my computer for the 3rd time to have the bugs ironed out and have some programs installed properly. It was not done the previous 2 times I took it in and I purchased a geek squad 1 year membership after my first visit in July so I didnt want to pay twice and go elsewhere. After my computer was fried, it was fine when I took it into the store, I was blamed for the issue. I could live with that, I was really most concerned about saving my data and pictures. I involved a manager who really was terrific. He gave me a good deal on a new computer and said he would upgrade my office to 16. I now know I should have let then. After 4 days in the shop, which was typical each time I took in my machine, things were not installed properly and I discovered not only was Office not properly installed on my computer but they had no intention of upgrading. They had tried to activate my old Office 13 and pass it off as new. Had they of at least done that properly I would never had known. I was trying to do it from home but because we live out of town and I couldnt download and install. It was an accident I found out. I spoke with the manager and explained what had happened. He understood my concerns and sounded frustrated himself. I returned the computer the next day and bought one at Staples. Yep, I did pay more money, I didnt receive the deal the manager at Best Buy had given me but sales staff told me to bring in my receipt the following day when I picked up the computer as there was a $50 off sale starting then. Service was terrific, all my old data was installed, new apps added, Bit Defender I received from Best Buy wouldn't work so I was given free anti virus/malware. I dealt with an extremely knowledgable tech who was more than happy to get my new computer set up with everything I needed.
Best Buy has some awesome sales people who are great at their job. Manager R was also very helpful. As for the geek squad fellow, dishonesty, a crappy attitude and shoddy work forces customers to go elsewhere.
