My dog won’t get in a car so I had a vet service come to my house to give her all the shots she needed. They came back to give her a second needed booster for Lyme disease . When I faxed Yorkville Animal Hospital her paperwork to put in my dogs records Kailyn noticed she had received the wrong shot! Thank you Kailyn for being so observant

Everyone at the Yorkville Hospital has always impressed me as being amiable, knowledgeable, and dedicated to animal care. Dr. Gignac has been my cats' primary vet for over a decade now & I've always been happy with their treatment. My older cat, now 15, has had a few health problems over the years & always received excellent treatment, while I get patient answers to my many, many questions. Last year she had surgery to remove some uncommmon bladder stones, yet she seems less stressed by clinic visits than in her younger years. (It probably helps that appts. are kept on time so we're in an out as quickly as possible.)
I also appreciate that the clinic saves lives with their adoption program which socializes and finds homes for kittens of stray mothers.
We moved from the neighbourhood 3 years ago, but I feel it's worth taking the time to come back here.

i enjoyed coming to this vet while my pet was in good health for regular check ups. looking back i was prob getting ripped off but i like the convenience of location and my pet was happy.

the cost of this vet is high but you do have some perks.

i never waited in the lobby with other animals.
they are usually on time.
the drs are knowledgeable and my pet didnt get nervous or worked up about going in.

my pet was diagnosed with a medical issue and needs constant care so i now go to another vet that charges me half of what i was paying at yorkville animal hospital.

i could not afford the insane prices for blood work and regular testing my pet required as the illness progressed. one test lead to another and they didnt offer any other options other than expensive treatments and medications.

the new vet im going too isnt as fancy but they really care and also offer homeopathic treatments which this vet never did.

they do have a frou frou cappuccino machine in the waiting area if free coffee makes you feel special.

the old snobby lady was horribly rude but is gone as far as i know. havent seen her in a few years now.

I'd like to thank you for taking the time to review our hospital. We always do our best to listen to our clients, and learn where we might be able to improve both our patient care and our customer service.

It is true that veterinary care can be very expensive. All of our fees are based on the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association fee guide which is published annually and distributed to veterinary clinics throughout Ontario. It is up to each clinic to choose whether or not they wish to follow the fee guide or not. The prices in the fee guide enable us to provide the type of quality medicine and care for which we strive.

We will always recommend what we would want done on our very own pets, and strive to provide top of the line health care. For some, unfortunately, this may not be possible. In those situations, through honest discussions between our clients and ourselves, we can often offer less expensive alternatives. These alternatives may not be as ideal, but we will always strive to work with our clients to offer the best care we can given the resources at hand.

Once again, thank you for your comments, and we hope that you and your pet are doing well.

Because I demand the very best in medical treatment for my companion animals, I only take them to Yorkville Animal Hospital.

Dr. Allen Gignac and his team are dedicated to the well-being of those in their care and obviously love the animals. The staff are knowledgeable and patient and always greet you warmly upon arrival - regardless of who is on duty in Reception.

I have been so impressed by Dr. Gignac's veterinary medicine and he NEVER pushes for additional, unnecessary treatments. On occasion, I have suggested a treatment and he has assured me that it was an additional expense that was not required. He cares about the animals - NOT the fees.

In addition, the Clinic runs a terrific cat adoption program which I and a number of friends have taken advantage of. As well, Dr. Gignac's clinic is involved with a program that provides temporary homes for the animals of abused women, as they shelter themselves and their children. When the women are re-established safely, they take their animals back.

I cannot speak highly enough about this clinic; if you are considering looking for a new veterinarian, I strongly encourage you to visit Yorkville.

Thanks to Dr. Gignac (Allen), Chris, Tiffany, and all the staff for the ongoing exceptional care you provide for my feline family.

They are very average. The vet, Dr. Helene Bouchard is very nice but very routine. Not a place where you'd want to leave your pet. The examination is too quick, not much detail and then a huge bill. I don't mind paying extra if I get caring service - this place just doesn't have "it".

The old lady manager at reception is a low class woman who has zero people skills, she should be working in a factory NOT as a representative of this practice. The staff is not welcoming and seem apathetic.

I don't recommend them - there are other places around toronto that are MUCH better.

I am very sorry that you had a bad experience at our clinic. Neither Dr. Bouchard nor our former manager are with us any longer, and I appreciate any feedback that can help us improve.

I couldn't disagree more with the last two reviewers. My experience has always been amazing here. The doctor is wonderful and always listens to me. He is great with my little yorkie, and she loves coming to see him. All of the staff (including the older lady) have always been super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I go to buy my dog's food here, because I love visiting them so much! I would recommend Yorkville to everyone!

The only reason why I didn't give a 1 star rating is because the vet is great here but the technician and the old woman are very snobbish. I found the old woman to be rude, unprofessional and lacked any knowledge when it came to the products. She just passed me off to another receptionist. If that were my practice I would not want that kind of staff representing me.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you had an unpleasant experience with our staff. The staff in question is no longer at our hospital, and I hope that at some point, you might give us another chance to impress you :)

lol. Thank you very much. Sadly, I am confined to the four-legged types of patients, but I am grateful for the note of confidence :)

This is a fantastic place to take your pet. Dr. Gignac is the best vet when it comes to making my dog comfortable. Fees are very reasonable and Dr. Gignac does not push unnecessary procedures. Only reason I did not give 5 stars, is the daytime receptionist (an older lady), is not very friendly. Other than that all the staff is amazing.
