Bathurst Dupont Animal Hospital, Toronto Reviews (7)
I'm new to the city, I went by reviews, and reviewers are right, this is a great animal hospital in the downtown Toronto area. Timely, the prices are competitive, of course any business will try to make money on certain things, as one reviewer said about the cost of nail trimming, their costs are not hidden, so if you thought it was too expensive why did you do it? Be a responsible consumer and pet owner, don't blame people for making money. If you think certain tests or procedures are not necessary then it's your choice, it's always your choice, of course they will recommend everything. They are great vets, I can see their love for animals and I trust them with my pet, eyes closed.
This vet clinic is the best. Dr.Koroknai (male) is amazing. I had a diabetic dog for 19 years and he has work with me to keep him healthy and happy. They are far from ripping people of. They are one of the cheapest vet clinic in town. I wish my own doctor would give me the care my dogs have received at this clinic.
Never go to Bathurst-Dupont Animal Hospital. They charged me $34. for a quick dog nail trim. I don't mind paying a little extra to support a local clinic, but this tells me they're more interested in ripping people off than creating long-term client relationships.
Drs Koroknai have been great vets to our cats - caring and compassionate to both pets and owners. We have been going to the clinic for over five years.
Regarding the bad review, we think that there was a period last year when the doctors were on a long vacation and there was another temp vet. This vet was not as good, so my suggestion is to call ahead and ask if Dr Koroknai or his wife (also a vet) is available to see your pet.

Dr. Koroknai is the best vet I've come across in my 42 years of owning cats. The only other one I know who was this good was "the cat doctor", who passed away a few years ago. Dr. Koroknaiery is honest, with best interest of the animal in mind, not his bottom line. We came from a bad vet, and the difference was night and day in so many ways. Highly highly recommended.
I took my cat here for a check up after she lost some weight. They gave me some meds to give her that made her stop eating and throw up. Many days no vet is actually there. For some reason they are always on vacation. The vets I did see were awful at explaining what they were doing or what was wrong. I stopped taking her there after spending $500 for them to only make her sick and scared. I took my cat there on and off for 2 months , they had no idea what wrong and didn't seem to care. I took her off the meds they gave me and stopped taking her there. At one point they forgot to take enough blood for a test and forced me to bring her back, pay for their time and the test all over again and terrify my cat by bringing her to the vet...again.
I was very surprised about how I was treated after hearing so many good things about this vet. I would not recommend them to anyone. It's expensive and they incompetent.

I have been taking cats to Bathurst-Dupont Animal Hospital for twenty years and while I've dealt almost exclusively with Dr. Attila Koroknai, I've found everyone who works there (including his wife and partner vet) to be friendly and genuinely concerned for animal well-being. They take the time to explain test results, diagnostic opinions and treatment options, and I have never felt pressured into excessive testing or optional treatments. In addition to the usual check-ups, immunization, spaying and neutering, they have helped deal with two different types of cancer, bladder & kidney problems, behavioural issues and even performed a euthanasia house call (for one of the cancer kitties). They are also open to alternative healing practices and prescribe, when appropriate, homeopathic remedies. On top of all this, I have found their prices to be generally lower than other vet clinics.
