The Kokai brand started in 1998 in the city of Valencia, Venezuela. When the first restaurant opened, we created a new concept of Japanese fusion cuisine and redefined the standard of fine dining experiences in the country. Four years later, in 2002, following the success of the first restaurant, we opened the second Kokai Sushi Bar in Maracay, Venezuela, and brought great success to the brand. Then in late 2006, following strong expansion and growth projections at the national level, we conceived the third venue in one of the most important cities in Venezuela: Maracaibo.

Nearly 9 years after, we decided to expanded our horizons and Kokai's reach with our first international location. As the hub of Latin culture in the US, Miami was our premiere choice to start the American expansion of this well-established restaurant. Now, it is time to continue writing our story. We hope to bring you along with us in this wonderful culinary journey that combines cutting-edge Japanese techniques with exotic Latin flavor to create a truly unforgettable gastronomical experience.
