I wanted to rent a normal Kia Rio coming in from Vancouver airport to Albert street Regina in Sask at the hotel and the rep talked me into upgrading to a van for an extra 13.00 per/day but failed to disclose verbally to me that in the end, they would charge me an extra 179 for a weekly fee. Then on top of that, I even vacuumed the vehicle and washed it and then they accused me of having dogs or cats in the vehicle as I found out they charged me a 200 cleaning fee. I never had anybody or any animal in the vehicle as it was just for my luggage. My guess is with the previous van renter they returned the van with seats up and had animals, and Hertz doesn't log whether they had pets and probably did not do a thorough enough check, so I pay the price. When I used the van I never raised the back seats and kept only my luggage in the back while I was out in Sask renovating houses. So I went from thinking I was gonna be charged around 312.00/plus tax to being actually charged 780 approximately, so I feel robbed. I felt they should have disclosed more info on hidden fees verbally, and log down whether pets will be in the vehicle. Beware of HERTZ -Regina Airport/Albert St- Car/Van Rentals as they are not to be trusted. Beware.
I would never use Hertz again as this my first and last experience with them. The one good thing about them is that they are available on Saturdays but again I felt take n advantage of and misrepresented by their failure to disclose to me verbally more-less. Choose and another rental company and make sure you ask about the fine print otherwise they will rack your credit card up after the fact. Beware.
