I have been living at 323 E 19 th st since Aug 1st of 2018. This is a brand new building getting managed by ‘Light-stone Management’. And this BRAND NEW building has various issues. Let me start from the beginning.
When I first visited this building with EVERGREEN Realty, they told me that all the appliances and touchups will be done by the time I move in which was Aug 1st of 2018. Soon after the tour I decided to move into the apartment without knowing that those were false promises.
As soon as we moved in, I realized something was wrong with the unit.
1. There were holes on the wall (total of 3. Only one of them is filled)
2. Appliances were in the unit but not installed. (stove is still not connected)
3. Laundry room is still not setup. (Management and Realty office promised they would set it up within 1-2 weeks when I moved in… The Machines are in the room but the laundry room itself is still under construction)
4. Trash Chute room is not ready.
5. Downstairs window does not shut completely. (I have seen bugs going in and out…)
6. Downstairs Entrance peephole is still not installed. There is a hole with masking tape on.
7. There was a flooding issue within few days of moving in. (had to throw out all my good towels. No compensation made.)
8. Wooden part on the bottom of the wall is stained and moldy due to the flooding issue. Nothing done about this yet.
9. 1st floor toilet leaks water every time I flush the toilet.
10. Shower water temp problem (get cold-lukewarm water. Does not know where the control is to fix the hot water problem.)
There are also other problems like no bike-rack room, no gym, no lounge-room, no gas in the building but the management just fails to get back to me with the issue. When I first moved in, the Realty office said that they have been working with this building’s management for a long time and they will compensate for the issues that are not fixed promptly. I have been living in the apartment for about a month now just to find out the building manager and the realty office have given me nothing but false promises so far.
If any of you are planning on moving into this apartment, 323 E 18th St Brooklyn, or residency building related with this management company I highly recommend not moving in there.
