Innercept LLC

This is a very bad program for young adults in recovery. Dr. Ulrich influences the reviews on Google and on Yelp, making sure there are five star reviews. On Google, one of the reviews references that the cooks at Innercept are so good. Yeah, there are no cooks at Innercept. It's either run of the mill staff members or residents making the food. I was over medicated, given a medication that actually caused mood swings, and they refused to take me off it. They gave it to me twice a day, once in the morning, once at night, and I was repeatedly told if I couldn't stay awake I would not be able to move on in the program. Right, like it is even possible to stay awake after given a dose of Geodon. This drug caused my brain to do something weird that wasn't corrected even when I went off it, not until I was away from the program and tried a treatment called Neurofeedback. Anyway, one of the common activities at Innercept is to go over and over and over again their wall chart called the Four Quadrants. This has no real world application, nor any real application in the program other than this exercise. There is nothing intelligent about the Four Quadrants, it is absolutely pointless. Yet you go over this over and over again. Anyway, the place where they go mad with power is at stable. One time I was having a hard time in Aftercare, meaning I was away in my own apartment, so they sent me to stable. It is part of the program but clearly shouldn't be because it's not usually conducive to treatment if you are isolating. One time, I was pulled away from my life in Aftercare to be taken to the cabin in the woods stable, where I was not allowed to do much of anything at all. I was only allowed to sit in one place and enjoy the mind benefits of Adderall (I am a recovering Adderall addict, but that's not what I went to Innercept for) which I was prescribed. It was so stressful, I was physically attacked because I refused to get out of the car... They actually threaten to cut my coat off me when I didn't willingly take it off (trying telling my parents they destroyed that expensive coat). It's actions like this that scream, we have gone mad with power. Anyway, I was under so much stress because of what Innercept did to me that stable trip that I stopped menstruating mid cycle while I was there, and my menstrual cycle started again and lasted another day as soon as I got out. I read someone say, yeah the people giving one star reviews are the people who do not follow the rules. Right. There are so many rules at Intercept, EVERY SINGLE RESIDENT has their own way of breaking the rules in some way. Even the most goody two shoes kids will break the rules. There is something about that attitude at Innercept that gives you this don't give a flying fuck attitude after leaving Intercept and I went home and got urges to steal from my parents because the program was so awful and I resented them so much for sending me there, and the atmosphere at Innercept says if you can get away with it, do it. Does your child have criminal tendencies? RUN! RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM INNERCEPT! This program will bring it out more in the child. It did for me, I have a clean record and I have never once shoplifted in my life. I did not act on the urges but I got them. This program is not for your child no matter what they are dealing with unless it is some sort of eating disorder.
