Read this review before getting service:

I wasn't going to write a review because I honestly don't like to invest the time unless it's completely warranted. There are several aspects that prompt a review.

1. Did the business waste my time?
2. Did the business give me good customer service to address my issues?
3. Did the business respect my concerns by showing empathy for any concerns?

Because this business violated all these aspects, I’m investing the time to tell others my experience and why I would ask that you reconsider doing business with this agent:

I relocated from Indiana to Missouri and usually use Allstate insurance. For some crazy reason, the rates of Allstate are very high in Missouri vs Indiana. I decided to try State Farm. I got a renters policy set up with agent.

Problem 1: With Allstate, I’ve gotten several quotes without needing my DL information. It’s actually a common practice in Indiana to at least give a general idea of the rates before providing a quote. The agent said HE COULD NOT provide a quote without DL. I decided to keep my auto policy with another provider. This didn’t stop the agent from contacting me several times still trying to get me to get another policy when I told him I was no longer interested.

Problem 2: I received a phone call and email from agent stating, “We have information that you may have relocated”. This feels like an invasion of privacy. The crazy part was it was inaccurate information because I was under a 1-year contact for my apartment. I was very annoyed that this agent was still bothering me trying to upsell me. Very unprofessional.

Problem 3: I requested from State Farm to cancel my policy and was FORCED to be transferred to agent office. This is really a terrible process to speak with an agent office when all you need is for your policy to be cancelled, nothing more.

Problem 4: I was transferred to a woman at the office who was very rude. I simply said I wanted to cancel my policy and didn’t want to answer any additional questions about why or anything. She obviously got upset that I didn't want to be UPSOLD AGAIN and hung up on me. I was highly upset at the fact that I was treated rudely simply for wanting to cancel my policy. I was more upset at the fact that I wasn’t confident that they were going to cancel my policy. I put in a complaint with State Farm.

Current Problem: I got a check in the mail for $.88 cents showing my policy was cancelled. All is over, right? NO! I get a RANDOM email sent at 4:00 AM IN THE MORNING stating “YOUR POLICY HAS BEEN REINSTATED”. What???? I didn't even set up an online account. I see that 1 day after cancellation my policy was reinstated. Sounds like a SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE

I called State Farm customer care and asked to speak to supervisor (when the rep didn’t want to send the office a message on my behalf like another rep did). The customer care rep transferred me (without notice) after going back and forth that I wanted to speak with supervisor.

I spoke with local State Farm office, and she said she had spoken to be before and had put in the request to cancel policy. I called out the fact that she hung up on me and she pretended to have no idea. She even lied and said she called me when the office never called me because I requested to be contacted by email only.

The woman at the office said that she didn’t know why I received information for reinstatement and was pretty much clueless, stating “I only work here, I don’t know”. She said there was no way I could make a review on the business. The incompetence is astonishing.

I don’t recommend anyone do business here. It’s a very unprofessional office. They wasted my time and still need to fix what ever error made on their end. I called State Farm customer care back and got instantly connected to the Escalations department to file a compliant. I cannot believe that I still have to deal with the idiocracy of the people working at this office when I have already cancelled my policy. Hopefully, that's enough information for you to chew on. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE
