Despite my repeatedly asking about discounts, they missed more than one that I may have qualified for. I had both homeowners and auto with them. I was a client worth keeping. The discounts should had reduced my premiums by several hundreds of dollars, if not thousands. As an example, my age and retirement was known. They used it to raise my rates on one policy on auto and forgot to reduce my premiums on HO. Yet, they obviously knew my age. When I protested, I was told that discounts are not retroactive. And, then the wind mitigation. I've objected to my HO premiums year after year. I've done the annual review. Yet, despite there being a poured concrete roof, shutters, and my questioning about other possible discounts, not one member of Peduto staff discussed how I might qualify for wind mitigation discounts. When I contacted corporate, I was told that it was MY responsibility to check the policy and the work of my agent. It the agent's work has to be double-checked and I supposedly know more than the agent, why is any agent awarded a commission by Allstate? If it is not for writing a correct policy and not for knowing my needs, why Is a reward or commission granted? Go with Peduto only if you know enough about insurance to double check their every move and understand your policy better than any agent would.
