German Motor Imports, Toronto Reviews (8)
I have used his services for over 30 years on and off. I find the owner very helpful. Although he only takes cash and email transfer, I found his prices to be way less than other Mercedes parts I needed along the way. I don't like the parking around the area, but that is just a small displeasure. He was very helpful, and always returned the the call with prices and the parts were there immediately. I would always go back to him..
Usually I don't write reviews, but decided to write one due to my experience in this place and warn other people maybe thinking of visiting the shop. I wish I read reviews before going there and stayed away. Yes, the owner seems to be nice to chat before you pay him as it was mentioned in one of the reviews. Unfortunately this is the only positive side of the shop.
First of all they only accept CASH and e-mail transfers. No debit or credit cards accepted. As a result you get just a hand written "receipt". If you pay a few hundreds or more for your parts be very careful and watch where your money goes. I had a lot of issues with the transaction and eventually forgot one of the items I bought in the store due to frustration. I remembered exactly where I left it and called the owner the next day as the shop got closed before I got home. I was told that the part is not there. Then I asked about specs of the part, so that I can find it in another store and got a reply that unfortunately there is NONE LEFT IN STOCK and it is impossible to measure. And guess what? The next day I got a call from the owner and was said that he found one in stock. What a magic?! And of course I was offered to buy it for more than a double price of the average market value. I was very nice on the phone and said that it is too expensive and maybe the owner can measure it and tell me the specs, so that I can see if I can get it cheaper. He just hang up on me on the phone yelling somethin like "if you don't want it, don't buy it".
I guess the guy forgot that it is not 20 years ago anymore and if you provide a bad service there is internet out there where customers will share their experience. I know it is my fault that I forgot the bought item in the store and I'm not accusing anybody. Just wanted to share my experience so that you can decide whether or not to spend your time going there.

Received an email from the Owner, regarding a specific wheel that i was looking for. Keep in mind, he contacted me first via a wanted ad that i had posted.
I called the number for GMI, The owner says to me, are you the one with the ad saying wanted for X amount of money. I said "yes".
The person over the phone says "forget it, for that price i won't even bother checking inventory."
First of all, GMI contacted me, and then proceeded to be condescending. Not good business ethic. Goodluck selling "USED" parts with that attitude.

No concept of Logistics.
Rude.
Changes negotiated deals without notice and refuses to compensate his customer for inconveniences incurred.
In this day and age of business, one would think that customer service would be the order of the day. NOT!

First time parts buyer, despite the reviews. Close by and fair prices for some glow plugs and ball joint. It's a small family place and the Owner and (son?) were nice and helpful.
Guy wants $700 for a used 2001 S500 shock. Bought a re-built from USA for $332.04 delivered to my door step.
wanted to purchase body parts for a sl500,front bumper looked like it was from an accident the side panels were from an older sl500,looks as though he tried to scrounge pieces together saying it all goes on a 2002 sl500,wrong,make sure you see and try the part before you buy, this to me is a black market operation!be very cautious!!!!
This place is the worst. They don't understand customer service and this will be the last time I will buy anything from them.
