We purchased winter tires and rims from this location approx 4 years ago. We had them studded. The mechanic told us that we could bring our tires back in a couple of years to be re-studded. We attempted to bring them in this year and were told the tires we bought could NOT be re-studded. I felt we were over paying as it was and now I am really not happy. Taking our business elsewhere. Didn't learn our lesson over the years as we have rarely had a good experience with any Canadian tire. Our own fault, won't happen again.

I PURCHASED A SET OF ALL PURPOSE TIRES TODAY. THE SALES CONSULTANT BILL WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL. I ARRIVED WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT AND WITHIN A LITTLE OVER A HOUR AND A HALF I WAS ON MY WAY. THEY CHECKED OUT ALL THE IMPORTANT STUFF ON MY VEHICLE AND ADVISED THAT I SHOULD GET A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WHICH I HAVE NEVER DONE IN SIX YEARS. WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I HAVEN'T A SINGLE COMPLAINT AND WILL BRING MY VEHICLE THERE FOR SERVICE FROM NOW ON. THANK YOU BILL!

Brought my car in for service after spending months of "diagnostic charges" at other shops. I explained my situation to the service guy,and the Service Manager stepped in and waived the diagnostic charge after listenening in to my conversation. Not only did they find the problem, they had it repaired in less than a day, and called me back 2 days later to see if everything was O.K. Excellent customer service.

Any time that I have visited this store, the problems are the same:

i) It is very difficult to find floor staff to ask for assistance;
ii) Some floor staff are very apathetic in response to customer requests for assistance, and don't appear to be concerned about the concepts of customer services or satisfaction. Perhaps if they worked on commission, things would improve....

Conversely, our experiences shopping at the Canadian Tire located near Polo Park is consistently good.

We purchased winter tires and rims back in November and we were sold on the premise that we'd have free tire swapping (winter to all season) for life of the winter tires.

Today we went to get our all-seasons put back on, and we were told that they will be doing away with this.

How can they sell you on one premise then take it away? At the very least it should be grandfathered in, and new customers don't have this option.

Secondly, I'd like to also agree with the comment below, the service manager is super rude and obnoxious. He doesn't know what "customer service" means. If Canadian Tire hires people to be rude to their customers (for their harsh corporate decisions) then they have succeeded. However, they wont have any customers left in the future to be rude to.

I am in the market for new all-seasons and I can say that I probably will not be purchasing them from Canadian Tire. Even tho it's near by and convenient I don't think I'll be stepping into the Kenaston Store for a long time. Good thing there are other options out here such as Costco.

I've been back a couple times since, and have had stellar service on two different occasions in the Tool Dept.

I do not have their names, but both guys went completely out of their way. 5/5 for you guys.

I still stick to my 0/5 still for service center though..

waiting 3 days now for a truck that was suppose to be done 3 days ago. All they need to do is switch a spark plug. Bad bad service!

Had an alignment done after replacing two outer tie-rod ends myself. There was no other mechanical work to be done, the parts to adjust were relatively clean. Their list of prices showed $91 for an alignment (21Oct09). When I received the bill, it showed an additional $9.01 for shop materials. I understand that they may use rags and cleaners or disposable gloves to work on a vehicle but these are standard and should be built into the price. This seems typical of unethical hidden extras that should not be added. The work they performed was good but the extra charges are unreasonable. THe price they quote should be the price you pay unless they inform you of additional costs for additional materials (for example you have a bad ball joint that must be replaced before they can perform the alignment). Adding hidden charges for standard shop materials is not ethical. They should inform people up front about all additional charges.

I have been to your store on many occasions. Most of the time you can't get hold of anyone, and when you do they usually don't know or they pretend to know and send you someplace that is completely wrong.
I would like to bring your attention to my last two visits to the Kenaston store. The first was Oct. 31st purchased a air hose for my portable air tank. The item would not scan, so the cashier page someone from Auto. A young fellow comes, takes the part and leaves. We have waited over 5 minutes by now, my wife and I started looking around, noticed the same young man talking and laughing with someone. The cashier in the mean time has paged him twice. By the way the cashier was very good. Finally the young fellow comes with the code which he got from the tag where I had picked it up. I walk with a cane, I could have done that in 2-3 minutes.

The second time was Nov.11th. Picked up 5 items, got into line. Stood there for quite a while, because there was a problem with a customer and the item they were buying. I do understand that this happens. But, looking around 5 of your cashiers were not running. We again stood in line for over 10 minutes. Oh yes, you do have the do it yourself cashiers. Well, I don't use those, for one reason they each take away 1-2 employees each. Also, if I have to cash my shelf out bag my own items, and get my change, I fully expect a 20 % discount. You are saving wages, employee costs etc.

Now, I have decided not to shop at Canadian Tire, I could get the same items elsewhere, also most of the time close to the same price. Even if I pay a bit more I will get much better service.

You should go to Walmart accross from you, look at the number of employees that they have working. Ask a question, see how you are treated compared to your store. Also go to Princess Auto and do the same.

Thank you
