void Scarborough Mr Lube unless you have no other choice I had my 91 Cadillac Allante
oil changed here in March and what a mess they made of the job and then tried to cover it up.
When I got home 5 Kl from getting the oil change I had leaking oil from the under the car.
I took it back right away within 1 hour and they put it back over the pit and told me it was a cracked plastic washer so I said how can you fix that with it full of oil. Oh i just put my thumb there and put in a new washer so they did that, got home and same leak I went back over the pit again, I was told oh the gasket was leaking not the plug they shower my pictures of oil coming down from the gasket I was not allowed to look my self, Like a fool I believed them.
The car was parked in my garage for the next month leaking oil but the leak did slow down.
I made arrangements for John at Auto Techniques in Scarborough to take a look at the repair of the oil pan gasket and give me a repair price. When the car was up on the hoist he called me over and showed me that there was no leaking gasket at all but from the plug and it was coated with some sort of gray epoxy or silicon coating to stop it from leaking. So the picture they showed me was a faked oil leak they just squirted oil in that area to make it look like a leak and took a picture to show me. They stripped or cross threaded the plug bolt in the oil pan.
Johns opinion is they just have kids working there and poorly trained to do the job and his opinion is now my opinion too.

I called may 8 Mr Lube Head office 905 593 1165 with the information about the damage and cover up. and received a return call from "Lisa" two days later that Mr Lube Scarborough would contact me, Never heard from them I have a answering machine Called Head office a second time May 13, no response from them they never take a call just leave a message.

I think one star is to much for this location, do not expect much from the head office either.

As long as they do not screw up anything all is ok but when they make a mistake its cover up
time and screw you. The cost to me to get it fixed I do not know yet but more than likely
two or three hundred dollars .

So avoid Mr Lube Scarborough because if they make a mistake you are on your own.
The head office is a total let down for customer service.

May 26 The repair has now been done today at Auto Tech. Scarborough fortunately the oil pan was not cracked it was aluminium.

The threads in the plug hole were completely stripped They rethreaded the hole and put in a new plug. cost $96.00

Mr lube should have paid for this fix by not doing so they now get what they deserve a really bad review

Additional business details

Until the mid-seventies, most oil changes were still being done by service stations and car dealerships. But entrepreneur Cliff Giese of Edmonton, Alberta sensed an opportunity. Cliff invented the 'drive-thru' quick oil change concept and in 1976 opened the first Mr. Lube store in Edmonton. Never before had an oil change and lube been so fast, convenient and affordable. By 1984, Mr. Lube had 45 stores across Canada and had initiated its Canadian Franchise Program. NOW we have 88 stores across Canada providing a full range of vital fluid services and other preventative vehicle maintenance. We're the country's leader in the industry - and still growing.
