MEIDL HONDA Saskatoon- my advice-NEVER GO THERE!!!! Ever!!!

We purchased a used jeep privately, which had warranty still on it. We had a pre-purchase inspection done(at avalon) The inspection found an intake manifold gasket leak. We checked with warranty company. As it was covered and that was all found wrong, we bought the jeep.
We took the jeep to meidl honda to have it fixed.
(Took it there only as the previous owner had taken it there for oil changes,fluid services)

Meidl honda absolutely screwed us out of our warranty!

Meidl honda told the warranty company that it was not leaking (just moist). Seriously!!!
Warranty stated if not leaking, not covered.
I have the paperwork from pre-purchase stating it had bad leak. I have paperwork from meidl honda saying it did not have leak-and actually wrote it was just moist!

Meidl called me and said that it was not leaking,their mechanic told warranty no leak.so warranty said not covered if not leaking.
They actually said theyd keep an eye on it every oil change and then fix it later!
However then meidl said, they found a window switch could use replacing.warranty would cover it.
Meidl, "Should we go ahead and order the switch?"
I absolutely could not believe it.
Said no.
(Do switch for 200.00 warranty deductible -but not manifold?! Then go in another time for it 200.00 deductible!!!!!)

Or do the leaking manifold! And switch!
One deductible! One service visit!

I picked my jeep up.
I drove directly to another company,Faithful tire and auto.
I told them what happened.
They performed an inspection free and compression tests.
Stated it was leaking.
They called warranty-
And argued and fought, they went absolutely above and beyond! Finally warranty had enough proof from them and original pre-purchase inspection from Avalon..they covered manifold leak.
Warranty stated however,
Meidl honda had made a claim for window switch!!!!!
As it had already been claimed, they would not cover it.

We have spent the last month waiting while faithful tire and auto was fighting to get warranty for the leak!

Switch cannot be covered now-because meidl honda put in a claim for it!!!!!!!!!
The jeep needed full flush,multiple seals,oil changed,gasket,ect..all due to an intake manifold that meidl honda said was
Moist!!!!!

Meidl screwed us over.

My advice,
Do not ever go to Meidl Honda!

Oh, and the cause of the leak-
Wrong fluid put in, jeeps need specific type..hmmm meidl??

By far the best dealership I have ever been to, the staff is friendly and willing to help. The service department goes above and beyond my expectations. They were able to fix my rear shocks and show me the old ones so I could see how bad they were. When they informed me it would be a couple of hours they gave me a ride Home. Once it was ready they called and I arranged their shuttle to pick me up. They know me by my name when I come in to the dealership and I am not just another pay check to them. They make sure I am safe on the roads and leave happy. Much better than any other service station or dealership I have been too.
Loyal Customer for life!

Bought car and check engine light come up same day. Dealer refused to fix and also refused to pay full price for repairs. Fraud people works here.

The customer service representative was useless. It does not help when these reps no NOTHING about mechanics other than to UP charge you when you their service.

The salesman lied and did not show respect. The charge things that are not customer's responsibility.
The managers threaten, lie, and intimidate customers.
They are very unprofessional.
The should train or change their employees, otherwise people will thinking the car business is too dirty to be trust if they have only visited the Meidl Honda.

I would also give no stars to the service of this company. I had to replace all of the tires on my car 1 year after a brand new purchase. Honda would not cover ANY of the cost, so I went elsewhere. Then the battery dies 2 1/2 years after owning the vehicle and Honda explains that they will cover 1/3 of the cost but the warranty is only good for another 5 months when the 3 years warranty is up on the car. The service department is absolute garbage and is unwilling to work with faulty products that they put in their vehicles. What a money grabbing scam!! Not too mention I get in an accident with the vehicle and take it to them to fix and they forget to replace a broken strut, try to put ELECTRICIANS TAPE on the plastic skirt under the hood to hold it together, and scratch up my rims putting the front tires back on and refuse to fix or replace the rim. Overall the car is pretty good but buy your vehicle from a different dealership cause this one is BRUTAL!!!

I would personally give it NO stars if that was an option. The first salesman we dealt with was acutally pretty good but when we returned the next day to discuss the terms on a vehicle we were blindsided by the fact that this dealership doesn't want to do business but rather rip-off consumers that seek the HONDA name! I have experience in the automobile market and made it quite clear that I did. I WANTED to do business but rather than that the dealership tried to MILK EVERY penny from us. We ended up going down the street to Ens Lexus Toyota and bought another vehicle instead!
