short visit to this dealer :(
I was shopping around for a good price for a mazda. I had a target price, which I asked the sales person if I could get it. The sales person asked me if I'm willing to sign papers and put down 500$ right then if he gave me his best price (not the price I asked for). I made the mistake to tell him I was not ready to sign on the spot, nor to give him 500$. So he tells me that their best price is the catalog price and only when I'm ready to buy, then only can he give me his best price...
I guess this way he showed me they're not confident they can really offer a good price - he was afraid I was going to go shopping around with his price.
It's like telling you oh, you're not buying now ? then don't waste my time ...
Well, now I'm sure his price won't be on my list anymore... he's safe :)
So be advised : when you go in, say loud and clear that you want to buy now. Or you risk to have your visit cut short... (or even better - go elsewhere)
Why is it that other dealerships have enough trust to give you a price ? Maybe because they really believe they can beat others in price ? Or more consideration for the client ? So what if I go shopping around with your price ? If it is indeed a good price, nobody will match it or beat it and I'll come back to you.

My 2 cents.

There is no logic for ANYONE to put money down on the first offer. Its the byer's right to compare products (aka shop around) and pic the most suitable one. Be it because of the price, or service, or raport with the salesperson or the whole package. I would complain to the manager about a bad business practice and let them know you will never come back. And neither will anyone reading your review here ;-) good job
