1) I originally thought I would buy my used vehicle at Honda Sisley because it's been in existence for 3 generations (over 65 years). This dealership also seems to take a lot of pride in their brand, given the "Sisley" label they tack on each car sold. I don't usually write reviews, but I personally felt the need to inform other potential customers.

I am disappointed and extremely frustrated with my experience there. Upon walking in, my parents and I walked around for 20 minutes without any Sales Managers or Product Advisors coming to assist us. We finally located one Product Advisor, who asked us to wait 10 minutes. Eventually we ran into another Product Advisor (Raymond Lam), who told us to wait 5 minutes but who never actually came back. Overall, we did not find the customer service to be particularly welcoming or friendly. After 20 minutes, the first Product Advisor finally came back to us and asked how he could help. By then, we had waited 40-45 minutes without receiving any staff assistance.

We found this Product Advisor nice yet inexperienced and uneducated with regards to the vehicles he was trying to sell. Admittedly, he later disclosed it was his second day working at the dealership. By no means did he help in the selection of the vehicle I ended up purchasing. He was unable to gage our lifestyle needs and personal interests. He had a hard copy list of the available used vehicles, which he had us look over. I felt as though I was on my own, making my own decisions without any professional input. When we went for a test drive, he was unable to open the trunk of the vehicle. He had to get someone else to help open it. Back in the office, we would ask questions and he would have to run back and forth to get the answers from someone else. I do not necessarily blame this Product Advisor - it is the responsibility of Sisley Honda's management to properly train their inexperienced Product Advisors before unleashing them onto the sales floor. Perhaps new employees should shadow long-time employees for a given amount of time. A simple example would be the fact that this Product Advisor incorrectly verbalized that a $1,000 was required, when a manager later corrected him in saying the deposit is actually $2,000.

After having settled on the vehicle I was going to purchase, we were then ushered to deal with a lady from the Financial department. She also disclosed she'd been with the dealership for less than a year, which was exemplified by her lack of product knowledge. I feel she didn't actually know the specifics of the warranty packages she was trying to have me purchase. Furthermore, on the vehicle agreement document she typed and printed out, I later found 3 errors. Most unacceptable is the fact that the purchase price was incorrectly inputted, indicating I was to buy the car for $2,000 more than the agreed upon price. Besides that, she had typed out the wrong mileage and gotten my email wrong. I am unsure how three errors can be made on one single-page document. As I type this, I have yet to even pick up my vehicle but I felt the need to disclose my vehicle-purchasing experience. This type of subpar service dampened my excitement of finally being able to purchase my car, after having worked so hard for years.

The only positive comments I have are with regards to Victor Mohammadi, one of the new vehicle sales managers. He ended up having to assist the Product Advisor with aspects of the paperwork. He was also friendly and professional.

2) This is an *UPDATE* to my previous review from several days ago. Today I was supposed to come pick up my recently-purchased vehicle. Upon physical inspection, we noticed a defective convex mirror, some scratches on the blind spot mirror, and a long line across the the driver's car door. Our Product Advisor (PA) said the dealership would fix these blemishes, so we agreed to pick up the vehicle tomorrow instead. Again, I would like to reiterate that our PA is kind in demeanor. His service is not reflective of the dramatic train of events that occurred moments later:

The Assistant Used Car Manager Kumar Sharma confronted me and asked (almost demanding) I take off my original review. Mind you, Kumar did not even introduce himself to me when he first came up to me and my parents. He said I should cut the entire team slack. I told him I stand by my review and can support every aspect of it, line for line. This is where he brandished his hands, ushering me to take a seat at his desk so he could pull up the review. Shiv Singhal (another PA) was glaring at me and my parents from his desk at this point. Upon sitting, Kumar casually tossed his business card at me and said I may even take his photo if I so choose. He said I may post this experience online if I so choose. Most egregious, however, is when he pulled out his mobile phone with his left hand and immediately started recording our conversation. He did not at any point ask for my consent. I asked why he was recording without my consent, and his unintelligible reply mentioned something along the lines of there already being security cameras recording. If security cameras can already record our conversation, what purpose does his phone recording serve? I don't understand the logic and found this to be simply an intimidation tactic. Furthermore, he loudly proclaimed my review contained lies, causing clients at a nearby desk (Zhana's desk) to turn around and look. To potential customers and Sisley staff reading this, may I ask why I would take it upon myself to sullify the Sisley Honda brand if my review is not actually indicative of my lived experiences there? Realizing I was not going to falter as he perhaps would have liked, he swiftly put away his phone and took away his business card. He dismissively waved his hand at me, as if trying to backtrack. I could later see him congregating with Susan (another PA) and quite obviously discussing our interaction. This further supports his lack of professionalism, along with that of various other PAs who eavesdropped. I also later heard him finishing off a conversation with Victor Mohammadi (New Vehicle Sales Manager), where he was saying to give back my deposit so the deal would be called off.

Fortunately, a more sensible Victor then came to me to address my grievances. I informed him about the non-consensual phone recording Kumar had just made, something he did not mention to Victor. Surprised, Victor agreed this action was inappropriate. Like Kumar, however, Victor asked me to take down the review. I said my taking down of the review would incorrectly reflect my personal experience at this dealership, that it would even suggest I am happy with the customer service (or lack thereof). I further noted that we aren't in North Korea, to which he laughed and said this resonated with his experiences under a repressive Iranian government.

Much to his credit, Victor asked how he may improve my experiences at Sisley Honda. I told him that when there is a plethora of negative reviews across several online platforms, it is indicative of a much larger issue beyond myself. While not easy or convenient, Sisley Honda must address a persistent lapse in customer service that stems from the top-down. He acknowledged this fell outside his realm of authority, and suggested I meet with Doug McDougall (General Manager). I will see what happens when I meet with Doug tomorrow morning. My increase of "one star" for this rating is simply due to one individual only, and that is Victor. For the rest of the team, this is me "cutting you some slack."

I had come to Honda Sisley agent after visiting another dealership in the Richmond Hill / Markham (Which both was local to me). The local dealership was not a very good experience. The sales guys were too pushy and they didn't have my best interests in mind. After visiting Sisley, instantly I felt a different vibe and also choices. The sales rep I dealt with was Ajantha, he was a really cool, down to earth guy. They didn't give me any hassle with my trade-in. Ajantha provided me with options on what made the most sense and value for the purchase of our new family vehicle. Whole deal took me less than 30 mins. I got a great deal and they got a sale like it should be, gain gain. Not the other way around. Overall, Sisley visit e was a great experience. they were not local to me but I have already decided to going there for service. Ask for Ajantha when you get there.

Went in to get my Odyssey serviced this morning. Was told it would take about 3 hours and the young man asked which phone number to call when it was ready. I showed him the number - my home number -which was on his paperwork - and he made a sort of star mark beside it to indicate this is the number to call. On the same paperwork the service guy in the bay had written - dirty - which it was as it had driven through construction areas and had some splashes of mud on it. I jokingly said "Is he calling my car dirty?" After signing the paperwork I left and went home to await their call when the car was finished. I sat at home all day waiting and only left to go outside once to bring in the recycling. I glanced at my phone and noticed that no one had left a message, as the message light would have come on, so I kept waiting. At about 3:30 pm I was getting ticked off that it was taking so long and so I phoned the dealership to check on the car. The young woman said the car was ready. I asked her how long had it been ready because no one phoned and left a message. She said she did not know. So, over I go to the dealership and it is now a different guy who tells me he did phone and did leave a message. He turns over the paperwork to show me he wrote VM and the time he left a VM. I asked him which number did her phone and he said both and he left a message. Well, I phoned my home number while in the dealership to see if he left a message, but no message there, so he fabricated a story. He did not leave a message at my home number, the first number. He then changes to say he left a message at the second phone number on the paperwork (my husband's cell phone that he turns off all day while he is at work). So, why tell a customer that you phoned and left a message? Why not leave a message at the first number, if you actually phoned it? Why was I asked which number to phone, if it was not going to be used? Why was the service person not paying attention to look at the number marked on the paperwork to phone? I wasted half a day because this person does not know how to leave a message, and then he makes up a story about it. To avoid this dog and pony show again, I asked the young woman at the service desk to remove the second phone number from my car's records so this service guy has no excuse next time to not phone the number he should have phoned. He will have no other phone number to call, so it will be easy for him to figure out - hopefully. Then after dealing with this guy, I get my paperwork and walk out to my car. I open the door and see all the grease they have left as a present for me. Oh joy! I go over to the guy in the service bay to tell him and he tells me he is just the jockey and I have to go back inside to deal with - yes, the same guy that can't make phone calls. So back I go. He is not happy to see me and I ask if someone can clean off the grease that they left installing my door handle assembly. He goes outside and rolls his eyes at the young woman who is at the service desk. Obviously, I am causing him grief, poor boy. He follows a service guy out of the service bay and has a conversation with him and he does not seem to want to come to clean the car. Eventually they both come in and I show them the grease. The service guy says he will clean it and away he goes. So, I am waiting again. Another 10 minutes passes and finally a different young man comes and I show him the grease on the driver's seat, on the inside of the door and around the handle. He takes his time and does a good job. I thank him and drive away. What is interesting to me after reading some of the other comments here is that people are all getting car washes from Sisley, after their service. What happened to mine? Remember when the initial guy wrote - dirty - on my paperwork? Well, it was still dirty outside, with mud, so they never washed my car. Not that I care, but just thought it was different for my car not getting a free wash and other customers got a wash. This is my first experience with Sisley service. We had a Chevy Uplander for the past 10 years and loved it and got it serviced at Roy Foss. Had a great service adviser that actually knew how to make phone calls when the car was ready, but we had to move on when our car got too old. We bought our used 2014 Honda Odyssey at the end of August and I am in love with the vehicle. It is a great car and I am hoping that the service department adviser that was assigned to me steps up to win me over in the future as today he fell short. How to improve? 1) Phone the first number listed and actually leave a message (there is a reason it is the first number listed). 2) Make sure the car has no grease in it when giving it back to the customer. 3) If the car has mud on it, wash it (this is not a biggy, but it is the little things that matter).

These guys are by far the worst and most unethical dealership. I went in to buy a car, didn't haggle at all and provided them with a deposit of 2,000. I told the sales person I needed the car in 2 weeks as my current vehicle was coming off lease. He assured me that I would have it on time and if the car did not come on time then they would refund my deposit (the lease was signed on the 6th of August). A week later I called to ask when the vehicle would be delivered and he kept on pushing the date 14th to 20th to 24th. I has now been three weeks and my current lease is up. I went in to ask for my deposit to to be refunded and these guys tell me that they cannot refund my deposit and that no such conversations occurred!

So basically I was lied to, they pretty much stole my money and did not refund my deposit. The sales guy lied to just to get the sale and the management seems to just want to line their pockets by promoting such unethical behavior.

The general manager Doug sends me emails any says he's having trouble understanding what they have done wrong.

My response to Doug is very simple - Your sales people lied and more importantly as an organization it is dishonest to take customer funds without providing a product or service in return.

So I'm out 2,000 and the "family driven Honda Sisley" has pocketed 2,000 from lying and cheating.

Because these guys did not deliver the car I went to Wietzes Toyota and told them what had happened. They got me to sign a lease told me that the car would be here in 2 weeks. They even went as far as to give me 3-4 days to cancel the deal if the Honda came! Now that's how you do business and treat customers. Thank you! Wietzes Toyota

STAY AWAY FROM SISELY....YOU'LL MEET SALES PEOPLE THAT ARE DISHONEST AND MANAGEMENT THAT IS DISINTERESTED AND JUST AFTER YOUR MONEY!

I spoke with Wesley on Monday at 8am .. I told him I was off today and needed a oil change badly. Even though they were fully booked Wesley went out of his way to try and move things around so he could squeeze me an appointment.

I cant complain!

Thanks Sisley!

I had a good experience buying a used 2012 CRV EX from Sisley Honda. I dealt with Peter Ruderferer & Calvin Dang and both were extremely helpful. I was confused about the type of vehicle I needed and they helped me narrowed down on the right car for me. There was a small dent in the CRV I chose and Calvin ensured that it was taken care of (with no sign of the dent) before the car was handed over to me. Even after I bought the car, Peter spent time with me, helping me understand the different features and controls on the car. I would recommend Sisley and Peter/Calvin for anyone looking to buy a used Honda

My appointment was for a B service. My service advisor was Mike. He was very attentive, he recommended a couple of services that he knew my car absolutely needed. I took the shuttle and the driver Molly was very friendly. I picked up my car at a time that was promised. Definitely will continue to do my services here!

I had 2 recalls outstanding on my 2004 Odyssey and I needed to get them done quickly but also when it was most convenient for my busy schedule. I called Sisley for Honda because they were nearby and they were most helpful on the phone when I booked by appointment. It got even better when I brought in my vehicle on the day of my appointment as my service advisor Mike was very friendly and was able to clearly explain to me how my vehicle was affected by the recalls, what needed to get fixed and how long it would take. It took less time than I had previously expected and the service cashier Kathy was very courteous and funny to talk to! All adds up to a great experience that I would highly recommend to anyone else who needs to get something on their vehicle done whether it be maintenance or repairs.

I was in for service at Sisley Honda not too long ago and the service was excellent, I didn't go to my usual advisor Mike Smith who has always provided very professional service, this time I saw the service advisor Denis Tabagari who was amazing, he was very knowledgeable and very professional, my car was in and out sooner then I expected, they even gave my car a wash. I will definitely bring my car back to Sisley Honda in the future.

Do not go here. They have the worst customer service. All they care about is getting you to sign that lease or finance and get out. You're better off going to another dealership.

All employees in the used cars department have their last name on their name plate, except the manager. That shows you the lack of transparency. The guy, named Richard is really rude and talks you down all the time. Very unprofessional. Really, save yourself the trouble, don't buy from this dealership.

Please never buy any Honda from sisley of honda .Never believe what they say, take everything on paper otherwise they will trap you and you will lose your money like I lost mine..Before signing deal, they give you so many promises, Once you sign the contract they will be different people . They will tell you talk through your lawyer if you have any problem . I was told by one of their representative that every year 10-12 people lose their earnest money with sisley of Honda.

I have recently purchased a 2006 Honda Accord from Honda Sisley Dealership in Thornhill, ON. When I was shown this vehicle, I noticed that the tires were partly deflated, and the rims were in bad condition, with the Aluminum corroded. By the way In Canada I bought 5 cars but Sisley is something special !!!

When I inquired about these issues, I was advised that the mechanics at Honda Sisley will take care of “everything”. I was also informed that the car passed all inspections and tests and had undergone all essential vehicle services at Sisley.

When I requested to view the vehicle history, or Carproof Report, as well as service and maintenance records, the salesperson and her manager both refused. I was told that the Dealership had a policy whereby they do not provide this information. They advised that I will receive “everything” when I purchase the vehicle.

I had trusted them, and gave them a down-payment of $500. Afterwards, I was given a Vehicle Safety Report, which stated that there are problems with the wheels. Following numerous phone calls and emails, I was told that everything has been fixed and that the vehicle was ready for pickup.

I came to pick up the vehicle, and paid the total owing for the vehicle in full (around 10.200 Cad total price), but was still not issued the Vehicle History, or an updated Vehicle Safety Report.

Two weeks later, while driving on the Highway, the vehicle did not respond well to the steering wheel. I checked the vehicle, and observed that the front left tire was deflated, with the gauge showing 22 PSI. I checked, and had not observed any nails in the tires.

I contacted the Dealership, but they refused to address the issue and claimed it to be my responsibility. I then came in to speak with General Manager John Yu, who had ordered to fix the LEFT front rim, and Sisley Mechanic said the problem was in the rim.

After the LEFT wheel was fixed, I inquired as to the other 3 wheels, but was rudely turned away, even though I explained that there are clear safety issues with this vehicle.

OUR EMAIL REPLY (Dated July 31, 2014)TO EUGENE WAS AS FOLLOWS:

Hi Eugene,

Your review on the Sisley website wasn’t published because it did not contain all of the facts. We have in fact published negative reviews (on OUR website) where we need to improve somewhat. How many dealerships do you know that do this, and operate with transparency as we do?

You were given a CarProof report on the vehicle and when you asked for the service history from the dealership, Richard stated that there was nothing to be concerned about, and that he would supply our records to you once the vehicle was put into your name. Richard did that only to protect the identity of the person who traded it to us, as you would expect if it was your trade-in.

You state that one wheel had a leak and our records indicate that John Yu authorized the leak to be repaired at no charge. What did anybody at Sisley do wrong? The only time anybody has said “no” to you was when you demanded four brand-new aluminum wheels for your vehicle.

I do not care where you came from, your background, nor your age, as these factors have no bearing in how we treat our customers. Nobody at Sisley is “spitting in your face” as you have stated in your prior email to me. We repaired your wheel at no charge (even though the car is over eight years old and has no warranty) and I agree with our managers that your request to replace all wheels with new ones to be unreasonable. We have dealt with you with utmost respect, honesty, and integrity. My advice to you is to drop this and to begin to enjoy your car!

Hi Mr. McDougall,
Yesterday I promised to send my story about Sisley. I tried to put my review on the Sisley website with a 1 star rating but Sisley did not even publish it. Maybe they only accept 4-5 star reviews? Or to put in YouTube better?
You can see my movies eugenemagic.
I am living 14 years in Canada. I bought 5 cars in total(sold one) but my favorite car is a 1998 Honda Accord. We wanted to purchase another Honda Accord V6 2006 or 2007 and because we live near Sisley dealership we bought from there. Everybody knows Sisley Honda.
See my attachment for my story. It is really strange to me that when you go a different used car dealership and they immediately give you history of their car (Ford-Thornhill, where I bought my Elantra). Here in Sisley, Janna and Richard refused to give me history of the car because it is private information, against Canadian Law and subject to a $50,000 fine.
In the safety report it was written everything OK except wheels, which had a problem. So I should drive the car without wheels? Or is it a license to kill myself or others? I paid $9000 before tax and to Sisley and got this service.

After everything Mr.Richard told me to complain where I want to. It means in Canada "F.. off!".

I needed a new car and I had a terrible experience at one dealership (not a Honda dealership), and a "well, if you don't buy this car someone else will" attitude at another dealership (also not Honda) . I was driving home and saw the Honda sign. I hadn't even given Honda any thought, but we pulled in. The building is huge, open, clean, and sunny which gave an excellent first impression. A greeter met us at the door and she was very nice. We looked at the civic with its features and I was immediately interested. Vadim Tsoy came over and greeted us in a very friendly way and showed us the civic 4 door that was just inside the door. he showed us the features and listened to what I wanted in a a car. We talked and Vadim set up an appointment for a test drive the next day so I could bring my son in. We met, we test drove, I bought the car! The car spoke for itself. It was awesome. There was no pressure AT ALL. We sat down, I added a few extras and signed. Vadim is a very personable young man and picked up immediately what I wanted. I've picked up my car, the civic EXL-Navi and I absolutely LOVE IT. The sporty kit I had put on is awesome, and the car has amazing road handling and in sport mode with the paddle shifters! Wow.
I give my 5 stars to Vadim and the dealership as a whole. Good Job!

Rohan at Sisley Honda Helped me to lease a CIVIC when I was almost disappointment and ready to leave the store.

He is so polite, understanding, educated, and informative. I strongly recommend him if you need an honest, educated sales person to help you out for getting a car.

Also, George ( I think he is the manager) was very helpful and pleasant.

Thank you all and see you soon.

We have been shown all the options and scenarios for us and all our questions have been answered in details. No pressure or stress at all! Thank you Rohan again!

It's been said that for most people buying a new car involves spending the second greatest amount of money in their lifetime(after buying a house.) In my case, Rohan Amarashinghe made the process relatively painless. He worked hard to come up with a deal that was acceptable to me and the dealership. But even prior to that, I was impressed by the time he took, giving me an extended opportunity for a test drive that would help me decide if this is the car for me. Some dealerships I've been to--Honda and others--the salesman seemed to assume that a quick drive around the block was enough for me to make up my mind. Rohan's attitude was "no rush, I want to make sure that you're satisfied."
The car I bought was an Accord EX-L V6 NAVI, manual transmission, San Marino Red. I've been told this is a rare model; at the time of the purchase, this was the only car with these specifications and this colour in all Ontario Honda dealerships. I was then delighted today when I spotted one that was identical--not just red, but V6, Navi, and manual transmission--in the parking lot of the Bayview Village mall. My wife is pictured with the two cars (mine is the one on her right).

Rohan Amarasinghe, Product Advisor at the Honda Sisley Dealership is educated, trustworthy and outstanding sales person.

I went to many dealerships before meeting Rohan. Most dealership were very pushy, educating me wrong things to make a sale and most importantly making lots of false promises (low interest rate, lower price if I buy the car right away but nothing was written).

Rohan was very informative and answered all my questions patiently (and yes I asked a lot of questions!) He also educated me about things I had no idea that I should research when buying a car.

After the test drive he gave all the information needed. And did not even push for a sale (unlike all the other sales people)! He messaged few hours later that I can contact him if I have any questions and wished me good luck with the search.

I did go to couple of more dealerships afterwards but I was sold on Rohan’s honestly, smart and charismatic personality. As a result, I scheduled an appointment with Rohan.

Rohan was very patient during the negotiation process and ensured after 3 hours that I was happy with my purchase.

I am very grateful that Rohan made my car buying experience so positive! If you are looking to buy a car – check out Sisley Honda and ask to see Rohan. I promise you will be very pleased with your choice.

Thanks to a family connection, I had help from the top, Hugh Sisley, down. Hugh put me in touch with his General Sales Manager, Doug MacDougall, who set-up an appointment with me and introduced me to one of their top (and youngest) salespersons, Rohan. Rohan's product knowledge was top notch, and his enthusiasm for his job was impressive. He listened to my needs, and got me exactly what I was looking for. This is the second vehicle that I have purchased from Sisley, the first 17 years ago, which got auctioned off and bought when I bought this one. I will definitely be returning to Sisley, maybe in another 17 years...!
