BUYERS BEWARE OF KENTWOOD FORD

I purchased a 2015 Ford Focus from Kentwood ford in August 2015. It seemed like a fine little car, until I went to bring it in to trade up for my 2016 F150. Turns out it had a transmission issue! I wish I would have turned around and walked out right then & there, and if I would have known what I had in store, I would have.
I bought my truck Mid-August 2016, I have wanted a truck of my own as long as I can remember, I almost cried the day I brought it home I was just SO happy to finally have it. It was a pretty blue flame color, and was just perfect for me. 2016 F150 Supercab 3.5 V6.
Unfortunately, my experience with Kentwood Ford has completely ruined the whole new-vehicle experience. I find myself looking at the truck in the driveway and instead of being proud and happy about it, I am just upset and frustrated.
I’ll start with the minor issues, we found a razorblade in the backseat (thank god we didn’t have kids to find it first), and the headrest was completely torn underneath the middle front seat. Which they did replace however was still a pain in the ass having to go back there again twice just for that literally like two days after driving it off the lot.
The major issues started about a month after I purchased the truck. Came home on a freezing cold night after night shift to my truck completely dead. And if you didn’t already know, the 2016 F150s have a common issue of the doors freezing shut and this just so happened to be a really cold night so here I am at 5am not even able to get the door open to get out of the cold because its frozen. So I have to call my boyfriend who was on his way to work, too come help me. He brought booster cables and attempted to boost my truck, it didn’t work. He tried boosting it for 20 mins, which was enough to get it to start, but in less then a minute it died again. So here we are, boosting this damn brand new truck for over an hour to get it charged enough to make the 5-minute drive home.
Next day, we boost the truck for over an hour again to attempt to make the drive to Kentwood Ford…I wish we didn’t even bother trying. Truck broke down in the middle of 97 street in Edmonton, which is a really busy street. This is where we gave up and called a tow truck. Waited over an hour for the tow truck to come to get it towed 200 more feet up the road to Kentwood.
Tried talking to multiple managers that day, we tried calling before we brought the truck and no one had time to talk to us, no one cared. We also tried when we dropped it off and “they were all in a meeting”. No one gave two shits about my brand new month old truck having issues like this. My salesman Bobby didn’t even bother replying to my text message.
Kentwood did set us up with a rental through enterprise, I had it for over two weeks until my truck was finally fixed. It turned out the 30-amp master fuse had blown. When they replaced it, the 4x4 and the radio fuses also blew. They replaced them, tried the coder, and when it had no readings they called it a day. Oh and did I forget to mention they tried to make me PAY for the new fuse?! They never even bothered to figure out WHY this happened or HOW it happened…..
Another month passes by, and everything seems to be going fine, until the snow gets really bad on the roads and I try to put the truck in 4x4 to get to work. Which is when I realized, the 4x4 doesn’t work... 4H & 4L both not working. I was infuriated by this point. So again, I am stuck driving into Kentwood Ford after work to drop off this damn truck, and then go over to Enterprise and get another loaner vehicle. This time, I went in and I was just so frustrated I was in tears before I even got in to drop my keys off. The managers seemed to really care at that point, but of course it was all just a front. Because the next day they called me and said they replaced the 4x4 fuse which had blown (again), and said the truck was ready to get picked up. When I ask them why this is happening, they STILL had no explanation, and were not willing to look into it any further. Ford Canada says I have to wait and see if It happens again before they can do anything about it…. So Now I am stuck with this piece of crap truck that I am scared to put any money into (tires, level, etc)and am just waiting until something else goes wrong...
and did I mention it has 3300 km on it..
I encourage you NOT to visit Kentwood Ford to purchase a vehicle, or obtain service, unless of course you prefer to be treated like a piece of crap. I will never be going back there.
